Granted... Yooper used her roto-rooter to clear your sinus' but now you can't enjoy the aroma of hops or malt... I wish could stop plucking my ear hair :D

    Hello, from Minnesota

Shhh! I don't want to give the impression to all these brewer types that I'm telling newbs that I really know what I'm talking about... In reality, I don't really even brew, I go buy commercial swill, transfer it to a corny and tell everyone I brewed it... Hell I couldn't even tell you the true...

Is it too early to let my hops grow?

Hops are a pretty tough plant... but If they get an early jump on the growing season, you should really watch them during july and august. Last year by this date my hops were up over two feet. By the heat of August, I had lost all my Nuggets, EKG, and most of my Fuggles. I managed to get a...

Going to Start Rig number 2

Coming from the view that building a new rig has never been a one shot deal for me (I build, refine, refine some more...) I would advise you to get the plumbing done with threaded pipe or possibly do something radical and use sweated copper... either of which will allow you to change things...

It's official, I'm having heart surgery on Feb 18th...wow, it's real now.

Rev, I just got done reading the whole thread, just wanted to say thanks for the healthy dose of "pick your chin up, your life ain't so F'n bad." It's amazing how quickly we get worried over trivial crap. Thanks for your showing of tremendous courage and thank you for sharing with all of us...

ATTN: MN/WI Mead Makers (raw honey)

ok, finally got it worked out with the producer, the going rate for 5gal increments is $25 / gal. That shakes out to $2.08 / lb which is a really nice price. Part of the deal is that I supply the food grade buckets and lids. which I also have a source for... (free) I'm thinking that if it's...

    Dialog with Wife

I had a similar experience about four years ago. I got the ok to plant 3 crowns "out back" after she watched them grow, she asked me if I could build a trellis for them... long story short, I've got six plants and looking into adding 3 more... do a few this year and be creative... maybe she'll...

ATTN: MN/WI Mead Makers (raw honey)

Hey Yoop, glad you enjoyed it! I'd love to get a bottle. Coming out this summer is a grand idea, but we'll have to see if Sara's and my schedule permit. I know she stated that would be a blast (but only if I can control my mouth when it comes to politics wink wink :D ) As far as the honey, I...

ATTN: MN/WI Mead Makers (raw honey)

so, I'm in for 60 lbs... If i do a 5 gal pail, it will be even less. so at this point, i'm looking at getting 180 lbs, (waiting to hear back today on the price) I figure I'll tale the left over 120 lbs and break it down into 6 or 12 lb increments (1/2 gal or gal jugs) so even if you are only...
