Why cant you get natural carbonation on a keg?

ok folks, thanks for your input, im just trying to get my head around the science of it all and take it in. I may end up kegging in future as a result of bottle bombs ive had (not too bad and atm just as a result of a hot day getting the area where they were sitting hot). I do like a bottle...

Why cant you get natural carbonation on a keg?

Apologies if its somewhere, i did a quick search but didnt find anything, also, apologies for it being a noob question also. I used to use the beer machine with their brews but then moved to a brew bucket and now use other brews, and noticed that with the beer machine i had to keep CO2...

Beer not giving off signs of fermentation?

ok, that makes sense thanks. I have had others which didnt show much airlock activity, this one a complete zero, so i was wondering if others had noticed the same. We had some warm days here and i thought once the temp went up on my brewer bucket that surely id see some bubbling from the airlock...

Question on beer in bottles maturing.

ok good, thanks. If i understand it correctly then, and this is the crux of my ?, the maturing of beer is only the yeasts continuing to feed on the sugars, nothing more? Once it goes in the fridge, i know the yeasts are made inactive, but are there elements within the beer that develop further...

For me a number of reasons i suppose. 1) Its empowering learning to be self sufficient. 2) Its better for your health using my rain water than fluoridated and who knows what else rubbish. 3) The science of making an alcohol so simply bare roots from fruits and or juice. 4) To see how it...

Beer not giving off signs of fermentation?

Cheers mate. I do sometimes taste the samples, but they arent always the best, and im probably not the best taste tester for knowing whats what. I noticed that my taste grew fonder of the batches i drank after they were done, whereas if i grabbed them off a shelf i probably would not have liked...

    Gday from Australia

Im relatively new, although i have done a number of brews and a couple of applefiens (spelling). I enjoy a good beer and wine with food. Ive also tried home made mead, but didnt brew it, i wouldnt mind giving that a go in future. atm, i have 2 apple wines on, each in 5ltr carboys, just...

Beer not giving off signs of fermentation?

Thanks BAF, i didnt do a gravity test on the brew at the start unfortunately, would you recommend that i do so in future? Yep, i dont ever dump the sample back either, it goes down the drain.

Beer not giving off signs of fermentation?

Hi all, i have a brew currently on, 3 weeks its been on, temps have risen to 28 deg C, and yet no bubbles from the airlock. Is this normal, or should i use a hydrometer to check where its at? Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Question on beer in bottles maturing.

Hi all, i have a question on the beer maturing once its bottled. Should i leave it in bottles for over 4 weeks 'outside' of refrigeration, or, will it mature whilst refrigerated? Thanks for your responses.
