Some bottles too fizzy, some totally flat

The beer chilled for a bit less than 24 hours. I just threw a couple of 22 ounce bottles in the fridge and will let them chill for a couple of days. I will report back.

Some bottles too fizzy, some totally flat

I bottled a batch of Janet's Brown from morebeer.com about six weeks ago. Some of the bottles are completely flat while others are all foam. My thought is that the priming sugar didn't mix in good enough and that a good stir, without splashing, will evenly distribute the sugar and fix the...

All Grain Brewing Around Salem, Oregon

I have done a few extract brews and I am interested in branching out into all grain brewing. Anybody know of a place in or near Salem, Oregon where I can see how it is done? I would like to watch the process start to finish before I go buy a bunch of equipment and ingredients.

Russian Imperial Stout - Secondary Fermentation

Forgive my ignorance here. Could I just sprinkle a package of dry S-04 or US-05 into the carboy before siphoning into the bottling bucket with the priming sugar? Or should I rehydrate first?

Russian Imperial Stout - Secondary Fermentation

If I go 10-14 days in primary then 10-12 weeks in secondary, will I need to pitch more yeast before bottling?

Russian Imperial Stout - Secondary Fermentation

Are there certain yeasts that do better than others when the beer stays in the primary for so long? I have only worked with dry yeast thus far but would not be opposed to using a liquid and making a starter.

Russian Imperial Stout - Secondary Fermentation

So could I just leave the beer in the primary for a total of 12-14 weeks without any problems? I have heard that leaving beer on the yeast cake that long will give it off flavors.

Russian Imperial Stout - Secondary Fermentation

I am planning on making a Russian Imperial Stout to hand out for Christmas presents in December 2012. I've got an extract recipe that estimates OG at 1.092. I am planning on leaving the stout in the primary fermentation for 10-14 days before moving it to the secondary fermenter. At this point I...

    first time brewer...

Check out the kits on morebeer.com. I brewed a B3 Stout for my first batch and it turned out great.

    Flat Beer

I put the priming sugar in the bottling bucket then siphoned the beer from the fermenter to the bucket.

    Flat Beer

Bottle conditioned for four weeks at room temp. Then moved the bottles out to the garage where it is a bit cooler, but not cold for another couple of weeks.

    Flat Beer

Yes, the bottles and gaskets were brand new.

    Flat Beer

The gaskets I used were the ones that came with the bottles, they were being used for the first time. Are the ones that come with the bottles not of a very good quality?

    US-05 + nutrient = Celebration

I used a yeast nutrient and US-05 on my last batch. After 24 hours the airlock was at a rolling boil!

    Flat Beer

I bottled my very first batch of homebrew, a B3 stout from MoreBeer.com, in a few 22 oz. bottles with crown caps but mostly Grolsch style flip top 16 oz. bottles. All but a handfull of the flip top bottles were flat. The beer bottled in 22 oz. bottles was fantastic. Has anybody else had trouble...

    Hop Stoopid

Hop Stoopid is a great beer. I am a big fan of most everything I have had from Lagunitas but this beer is special. I especially love that I am able to find the 22 oz. bottles at both grocery stores in my back woods town at a reasonable price ($3.50-$4.00).

    LPA/ Lauren's Pale Ale

I live in Silverton and have sampled a number of Seven Brides' beers. Like many other very local, and very small breweries they do a couple of thing pretty well and the rest is not so well. I happen to think that their stout is very good. The LPA is unremarkable, I know I've had it but I just...
