    Vienna Lager Mexican Lager

I meant I never done a step mash like increasing the time. That part is new to me. Do I raise temp. And start the time as soon as it reaches the next step or do I include the rising temp time as the time in next step? I may make no sense right now

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

It's delicious out of my sampling port. It's carbing up in unitanks while it's cold crashing. Mines 5.3%. And with the changes I made due to the malts I had. It's smooooooth. It's def one I can drink all day pint after pint lol.

    Vienna Lager Mexican Lager

I do brew in a basket or bag. Do I just follow this still and when I start draining the basket. And start bringing to boil throw in hops? I never did a multiple temp mash I only have done a single temp for 60 min or 90 min. So this is new to me

    Duofiller?

Interesting. I'll soon be trying to dial it in. Two beers fermenting. Duofiller told me to keep my serving pressure the same as it is in keg if I change it they said it will create foam If anything maybe extend their 7.5' 1/4 tubing used for the beer to maybe 15ft if I have too.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Today is 7days since brewing this at night. I just pulled a sample. And while it sat at 10psi entire ferm it's got some carbonation. I just tested the sample with easydens after degassing. 1.014. Beersmith estimated 1.010. So missed the mark. But I'm gonna retested tonight and if it's still...

    Duofiller?

What pressure do u use. I know to purge can 1-3psi but doesn't the manual say normal tap pressure like 12psi is fine?

Hazy IPA brewing:Something happened it's my numbers. Picking your brain

Regardless it smells good bubbling lol. Now I need to figure out if I'm gonna add anything with my dry hop to help keep oxygen out when I keg it. Because I have a duofiller and hoping to get this hazy to stay good

Hazy IPA brewing:Something happened it's my numbers. Picking your brain

My confusion with profile is I'm setting batch size to 5.5 for my ferm. But when I think about it. After boil is 6.25g. So that's my final batch volume. And if I put 6.25g total after boil it actually puts the recipe to 1.077. Now after my loss of trub and putting the wort into my ferm I'm...

Hazy IPA brewing:Something happened it's my numbers. Picking your brain

I think it is error on my beersmith profile. I think I figured it out because if I make some changes because I misunderstood what it's asking for calculations. After changes it says post boil is 1.077 if that's the case I hit it right on the nose But I don't know

Hazy IPA brewing:Something happened it's my numbers. Picking your brain

Ok let's start by beersmith and my numbers. My mash. When drained. I was close to the numbers. 1.058 and about 8g maybe a tad more. Beersmith preboil 1.061 and 7.98g. I was darn happy with that. While it was coming up to a boil I stirred the wort with my whisk to make sure it was mixed...

Spike Solo basket (for 20 gallon kettle) work in a Blichmann 20 gallon kettle with a 240V brew coil?

Yes that's what he means. I just made a 5g suppose to be 9%. I can't double this batch. It's 17lbs just for itself.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

its looking better. Not to bad on this hand lol I stirred the mash every 10 min in my filter basket. I don't know how much hit the floor so my post boil volume is not measurable. Not sure what I have in fermenter. Suppose to have 5.5g I'd guess 5 tops.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

It was a mini disaster of a day but a good learning experience lol. First. I realized I didn't have all the ingredients that I ordered. Morebeer gave me all caraaroma bags and not carafoam. So I had to just wing it. Used more base malt which I had golden promise lying around. Secondly the...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Brewing this today. Shooting for 152* 60 min mash. While adding honey at flame out I plan to whirlpool it for 10-15min to get it to mix. Then turn it off so everything settles for maybe 5 -10 min. Then running through CfC and straight into unitank wish me luck lol

Using fermentation pressure to purge keg

I'll get my feet wet and do a single keg first. Let me dip the toes first!

I'm actually cracking up right now. I have a large California air tools ultra quiet oil free air compressor. I forgot that it was oil free. I bought it because it is super quiet. Lol! Doh!

Using fermentation pressure to purge keg

Maybe a dumb question but if I plan to purge 2 5g kegs during fermentation to save on CO2 tank. I sanitized both 5g kegs I dumped them out. Closed them up. Now do I want the CO2 to go down the dip tube beverage line and purge to the top. Or go into the in port and purge oxygen from bottom up...

If you wanna chuckle... Read this

I just got it with air. I'll resoak with pbw after this. I'll soak with hot water and dish soap. Then hot water and pbw and run pbe through posts in and out before hooking up to fermentation to use the CO2 to push out the sanitizer
