    Some interesting results

So i have 4 beers that have been ready to transfer for a week now, i went ahead and let them go, because 2 of them were still fermenting and the other 2 were lagers so i doubted they were done. Today i decided to taste and transfer to secondary. First up was Ed's Haus Pale Ale. For starters...

    Cheesy Joke Thread...

A priest, child molester, and homosexual walk into a bar.... he orders a drink. - A priest and a rabbi were bored one day, the priest turns to the rabbi and says "I know let's go screw an altar boy!" The rabbi says, "Outta what?".

Won't somebody please stop and think of the beer!

Thats also from a company called Miller.... yeah the ones that think 'Chilada' is an actual beer style... they probably have their graphs upside down...

Can you brew beer in outer space?

Well you really wouldn't have to boil, except for Hop utilization (could use hop oil or extract instead) no need to sanitize, the space shuttles are pretty damn clean, they have to be. And every direction is down in space....

    Let's talk...shandies!

Hey now, it's not too bad, i mean i didn't like it but it tasted to me like someone used lemon peel instead of orange peel in a blue moon clone..... Ok so it was pretty bad, but it was refreshing ok. Gotta give credit to leinie though for at least trying, and i don't mean BMC trying like...

What kind of beer did I make??

not to be a stickler most Nut Browns are Northern Browns, there's a couple southern browns that are call nut browns too, i have no idea why they're called nutbrowns i've never tasted nut in a single one of them...

    Rogue Shakespeare Stout

Yes there are better stouts. Not to put down Rogue's, which, while good i am not overly impressed. Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout is better, IMO Lion Stout is also better, IMO don't get me wrong though i'd still rank it at about a 97/100... Have you had their Mocha Porter yet, if you like the...

What kind of beer did I make??

I would put it between a Northern Brown and a very crystally brown porter... the special roast (which is superb in both browns and porters) gives a good amount of roast and with chocolate it'd give the porter-ish taste. But mashing at 156 would leave it maltier more like a brown... I'd...

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

Last week when i did the two lagers i somewhat staggered them... I collected mash and sparge water of one in the kettle then started mashing the other while i was boiling the first.... It wasn't really that staggered but it took off about an hour or two.

How many gallons of EdWort's Haus Pale Ale have been made?

330 + 5 = 335 Brewed it friday, using 1056, and ran out of propane 10 minutes into the boil after adding the hops so the 60 minute addition got a little extra time, i think i saw a bubble earlier today (saturday).

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

lmao, funny you mention that..... no i don't keg.... i actually planned 5 because with them, and the 2 lagers i did a week ago, they will fill every single bottle i have.... Yeah, you DON'T want to know how many i have.... damn near 500... oh yeah i'm so selling these puppies when i get a kegerator.

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

Well i can't say i'm 67, but i dislocated my knee Dec 31st of last year (no not in a drunken stupor). So the standing and walking and lifting was close to being a bit much the other night, it's actually kinda sore today and i don't want to take it too far and have it dislocate again just before...

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

well i was going to start about 2 hours ago, i decided (after yesterday) sleep was better. I'm going to space them out, i'll do 2 next weekend, and 1 the next. It's just too damn much and i'd rather not lose interest or get tired and make stupid mistakes. I've got 2 burners, 2 keggles, 1...

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

I would but last time i did a 10gal batch i burned it, though that was the first time i used the newer burner so that was probably why. The amount produced is nice, except it's hard to get rid of when you burn it. I think the reason for 5 gallon batches right now is mainly the ease of trying...

Getting Weary (12 gallons, and 18 to go)

I don't know if i can do this.... I had 5 brews on the docket, i had a week or two off of school, was going to space them out. Well, i got a job, i start monday, i just lost that week. So today i mashed (no pun intended) two brews in today, ed's haus pale ale and a guinness clone. Well, that...

1st AG, ED Wort's Haus Pale Ale

oh of course, yes the math is a very good thing to learn, it helps in other areas of math too. Just like the science behind beer applies in all kinds of situations. It's just i'm too lazy to actually do the math, if i set it at 75% and hit the gravity and the volume i'm a happy camper.... i...

1st AG, ED Wort's Haus Pale Ale

Good job, what're the odds i just doughed in not but 5 minutes ago on the Haus Pale Ale... Promash says that at 75% efficiency, which is what i usually get with single infusion, i'd get 1.051. So we can assume you have a 75% post boil efficiency, or at least somewhere in that area. Buying or...
