And the worst beer of all times award goes to...

For me it is Steel Reserve. I have never had a beer taste so bad to me! Most of those beers in your poll I actually like- especially on a hot summer day golfing! :)

    Sanitizing tips

My last brew session as well as bottling session I also left one side of my kitchen sink filled up with Oxyclean solution the whole time. It was very convenient anytime I wasn't sure about something, wash it in the sink quick and dip it in the bucket of Starsan. Easy!

    Sanitizing tips

I've been using an extra 5 gallon bucket and filling it up halfway with 1/2 oz of StarSan. I also keep a spritzer on hand filled with it too- that's very handy. I usually pour or siphon the contents of the big bucket into the larger pieces (fermenter, carboy, etc... splash around for a minute or...

Partial mashing with one pot and a cooler

+1 to that! I am intrigued with the idea of batch sparging in a cooler using BIAB, it seems to me that there would be less worries with equipment, stuck sparges, etc.... I have not done it yet, but that is just the feeling I am getting reading through the forums.

Heads Up: 100gal brew system for sale at UC Davis

Man that thing is cool! My only problem in WI is that it would be illegal (AFAIK) for me to brew more than one batch! :)

4 Gallon Batch in a Carboy

I have a 5 gallon carboy that was used as a secondary and would like to brew up a 4 gallon batch tonight or tomorrow night and ferment in this container. Does this leave enough room at the top where an airlock will suffice? Or should I consider a blow off tube? My main question is how to...

+1 on the Patience post! A couple items that did not come with my first kit that I really think are useful are an auto siphon and a bottling bucket.

    Fermentation Chamber: Off The Shelf?

I have read here om the forums that the actual temps of fermentation is several degrees higher than the ambient air temp. Does anyone know if this is also true in the bottles?

    Fermentation Chamber: Off The Shelf?

My house is usually 62-66 degrees in the winter. Will it just take longer for my bottles at this temp?

    Fermentation Chamber: Off The Shelf?

So I have been looking at upgrading my home brewery and feel that controlling my fermentation temps will help me make better beer. I see a lot of people making chambers using various methods and also old fridges/freezers. I guess I have a couple different questions. 1) Does anyone make...
