Who ferments in 1/2 bbl sanke kegs? Advice please

I ferment in a half barrel snake keg. I use a 2" tri-clamp and 2" stainless blind with out a gasket. works just fine for me. I always give it about 14 days to do its thing then I just rack into either a bottling bucket, or straight into my corny kegs.

1st Not so good beer batch. Need help!

Sounds like you under pitched your yeast to me, was the wort still hot when you pitched? If it was dry yeast did you rehydrate? These things make a difference.

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

I read this thread a couple of months ago and learned something valuable about brewing 10 gallon batches. I now just collect about 800 ml of wort in a erlenmeyer flask and cap it off. Then I'll empty my boil kettle through a sieve to catch any hop particles that made it past my hop strainer. At...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Added a 3/8 needle valve right behind the orifice of each of my bg-14 burners. I was just using the ball valve at the manifold. Now I'll have fine tune control over my flame.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Fixing to make 11 gallons of my house blond ale. I started out trying to replicate a Budweiser beer only brewed with a ale yeast. This go around I'm stepping up my grain bill and removing the sugar. My last beer is good but a lil to thin for me. Also stepping up the hops to make it fit the blond...

    Harvesting yeast.

I wouldn't risk it either. There could be anything growing in there by now.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I made a 11 gallon ale and cearl mashed nearly 5 lbs of rice. Did the best I could to produce a Budweiser but used us-05. I think it will turn out alright.

LM317T vs rheostat....stir plate build (cheap!)

I went with the http://www.ebay.com/itm/251715913360?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT for the controller. I'm also using a 19 VAC Laptop power supply. I'm having problems slinging the 2" stirbar. I'm thinking using a smaller power supply might help.

Crazy Electrical Problem in my gas powered DIY project

One thing that I learned from my build is how dangerous the automated gas system can be. Have you thought about going electric. It would be cheaper in the long run.

Crazy Electrical Problem in my gas powered DIY project

I guess I don't under stand the timed relay, all you really need is a pid, a switch, SSR, solenoid valve and a pilot light.

Crazy Electrical Problem in my gas powered DIY project

I think you are going to have to add a SSR between the pid and the loads. If that is a Snr then you will be able to wire it directly to the SSR, if that is a rnr then you will have to run low voltage with it to work.

    Clarifying an IPA

I think your looking to use a finning agent. I would recommend using bentonite. http://www.ehow.com/how_7394307_use-bentonite-beer.html
