People used bleach as a homebrewing sanitizer for years. That was the old school way.

I dried off the stopper and neck and used cheap vodka. I was a homebrewer about 10 years ago and I do not remember having this problem. But my guess is that I was wiping the neck with vodka and lighting it to sanitize it before I added my yeast from the starter, so it was dried out.

March 21st works for me.

One reason I went with glass is when you lift a better bottle the shape will distort ( temporarily ) and suck in at the airlock. This is only an issue if you use and airlock, but I do.

Thanks for the links. My guess is I could prime my ale the same for both bottling and putting some in a cubitainer. Brewing Classic Styles recommends 1 to 1.5 volumes.
