    Sour mash blended to IPA

So the brew went smooth today the "sour mash" tasted excellent.Really light SRM somewhere around 2-3. I was a bit worried by the smell because it smelled really sweet and had no desirable sour notes i was waiting for.The boiled sour mash tasted light crisp and pleasantly sour with some wild...

Fast souring honey & other simple sugars.

Thanks for the link, maltodextrin seems to be a great addition to this project. I basically just want to see what adding heat does to this process the same way people cheat with sour kettling.

    Boiling hops in water

In your situation i think i would probably add some honey to the tea,I dont think you need to change your ph unless the ph is highly acidic.I, like the way you are thinking.I have had a similar idea but theoretically took it even further. What if you made the hop tea then freeze distilled that...

    Sour mash blended to IPA

I have close to 100 brews under my belt and i just started my first IPA! I despise IPAs but i have been nagged into agreeing on a sour IPA. As we all know there are more than a few ways one can go about it, this is what i chose. Sour mash blended to a clean IPA with summer hops. The sour mash i...

Blue beer: lets beat this dead horse

The blue color is coming from the flowers the deep blue is assisted by the Ph of the carrots along with the calcium in the marshmallows. im pretty confident the beer would still be about the same color with out either of the those additions though. I did not leach the color out of the flowers...

Blue beer: lets beat this dead horse

i brewed today. Its BLUE!! i went with a Carrot cake cream ale. Psillys rabbits cream ale to be precise. After realizing the flowers had a slight earthy flavor i decided that(rainbow) carrots would compliment that flavor along with being a alkaline root vegie that should help keep my ph high...
