New guy at work on my nerves, strange habits

A lot of abrupt things can be said without conflict as long as you say it with a smile and make sure your body language isn't aggressive. As he grabs something..."Dude, hold on...it is usually best to ask before you grab things off of other peoples desk." Or if he is leaning in too close ask...

    Homebrew and a Wedding.

I have done three weddings and a family reunion. All were hits. Make a label. It creates a great convertsation piece. Only did 5gal for the weddings and wished I did more each time. Did 25gal for the reunion. 10 in bottles and 15 in keg. That was about right for a two day event and 90...

Helena Montana, nice place or ???

Crap...another Californian moving to Montana;). Just kidding. Montana is a great place for freedom loving Americans. If you want to be deeply involved in the community you can. If you want to be a hermit and live in the woods no problem. If you want to run around with a cow pie on your head, no...

    Raw spring barley in Midwest

Was that shipped using SpeeDee? If so they are only regional to the Upper Midwest. UPS would have been over $70.

Terrible customer service from the brewing network!

I'm guessing Justin is busy with the TV show they are creating. You will get your stuff. He is giving away some of the best brewing info/interviews in the world with his show. Over all he has done a great service to the homebrew community with his network. I'd cut him some slack.

Possible Electric build with silicone heat mats

I used those in a former job. Never heard of them being used in brewing but it seems like it would work. Would be easy to test, so give it a go. Would love to hear the results.

    do i have a co2 leak

The pressure will drop when the bottle is cooled in the frig. You still have the same amount of CO2. It just shows a lower pressure from the cold.

    Kettle sizes

No reason you can't do this. Mash twice and collect into the 40gal. Although for boil over reasons I wouldn't do much more then 30-35gal in the 40 gal pot.

    Fermentation Stall?

Four days is early to be too worried. If it make you feel better, give it a swirl and warm it up. Then give it a week. If still to to high then try pitching a high alcohol yeast.

Big breweries using small names to conceal themselves?

    Mill concept

Can't remember where, but I believe I read that pro brewers have large diameter rollers without knurl. With a large diameter the approach angle is more gradual and will pull the grain through. It is also better because the malt is just crushed. With the knurl the malt get somewhat shredded.

    help please!

Many beer will finish in a week. If yours has been 2 weeks it is likely done. The only way to know is to check the gravity.

Big breweries using small names to conceal themselves?

Here is the bottom line. I agree with Revvy that we shouldn't bash those who like bud light and we shouldn't whine about "the big evil corporate breweries. If I was in charge at BMC I would do exactly what they are doing. But at the same time there is nothing wrong with letting people know about...

Big breweries using small names to conceal themselves?

Revvy and Bernie. I'm sure you guys don't object to people who choose to try to buy local. If there we two equal (price & flavor) beers one local and one BMC. Which would you buy? That said I have bought a lot of Coors Light when hanging with friends and consuming piles of beer. In that case...

Big breweries using small names to conceal themselves?

I tend to agree with Revvy, but it is rather shady how they create subsidiaries like Blue Moon. I can't count how many people have argued with me that Blue Moon was a craft brewery. If they like it I could care less, but when they purposely try to buy what they think is a craft beer and are...
