    wyeast 1968 in an APA?

I agree with beerific about the flocculation and attenuation. Mash low and don't use too much crystal. I would like to emphasize that you should start low( 62-64F) if you don't want ester production. Bump the temp (66-68F) up 24-48hr after fermentation starts to help dry it out. A swirl to rouse...

    Let's talk upgrades!

Get the pot with the valve and the chiller. You can do full boils or BIAB then get the mash tun later, or you could build one. Don't you have an old cooler in the garage? Edit: I agree with brettwasbtd, If you don't have fermentation temp control it should be priority #1.

how much pumpkin and spices for my honey oatmeal cream stout?

That seems like way too much going on in one beer. Keep it simple. Brew the original if you like it and brew another pumpkin beer if you want that. I would not try to make a kitchen sink beer. Go with one flavor at a time.

How to best clean nylon hop-bags?

Hot oxyclean or PBW works pretty well. I have thrown mine in with the laundry before, but make sure you rinse it well with hot water and don't use a fabric softener. Lately I have been thinking that I don't get the same hop utilization as with the muslin trow away types. I now only use the...

    Keggle coupling location/position...

You are over thinking this. when you put the Teflon tape on just do about 3 wraps and you will be able to get it to seal and line up. If this was as big of a problem as you think tapered pipe thread would not work in any application. Plus you will have just about zero pressure in your system.

This is a Warning: Go easy on the Blackstrap molasses

That thought crossed my mind? Could I just mix the beer instead of water in the pancake batter. Do you have a recipe for these beer pancakes? Edit: I still like the idea of a Hobo army.

This is a Warning: Go easy on the Blackstrap molasses

tesilential's got a good idea! I'll just fill up some old milk jugs and take em down to the bums that hang out by where I work. Then all the bums will love and revere me. I will have an army of hobos to do my bidding. King of the Hobos!!! Imagine all the bottles they could gather.

    Is this even possible?

Why do you want a beer with such a high FG. You trying to put on some weight? You could use a ton of carapils and crystal malt.

LHB said i need to yeast packs?

Just pitch the one pack. I wouldn't under pitch with 1056, but since you are a brewing a beer with yeast derived character under pitching is OK. I was listening to an old episode of the Jamil show and on it Criss White from White Labs was talking about how he regularly sugestes to people who...

    EastEnders Honey IPA

I would say keep the honey (it will help dry out the beer) and replace some of the C-60 (which can have a bit of a raisin flavors) with 1/2 Lb. of honey malt. That will give you the sweet honey flavor. Honey malt is a crystal malt about 10L IIRC. I also agree with dcp27 about the use of the...

    Paintball regulator problem

You have some crud in between the regulator's diaphragm and it's seat. This is allowing gas to slowly leak under it. This is a problem with the regulator and it is not affected in any way by the source of the gas (welding vs. paintball tank). Take the regulator apart and clean it out and it...

This is a Warning: Go easy on the Blackstrap molasses

Now, what should I do with this full keg? Blend or dump or stash it away? @SkiGladys you said it did not mellow with age, how long did you give it? I don't want it occupying one of my kegs for too long. I only have 6 and I could easily dump this with out affecting my pipeline. Maybe I'll keep...

This is a Warning: Go easy on the Blackstrap molasses

So I just kegged up a beer I made ~2 months ago. I had a taste and I used WAY TOO MUCH blackstrap molasses. That's all I get in the aroma and taste. It retained the same flavors it has when not fermented and would be a unique and nice flavor if used in moderation. It is not like me to be so...

    Disadvantage of Large Kettle

I would imagine that 5 gallons in a 55 gallon pot would have the same effect as a sauce pan. Your boil off rate would be the same as it is for the larger batches = very high.
