    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I found a very simple way. I move the ball valve on the riser to the off position. Many times the recirculation arm is in the way so my next step is to release the cam locks, let it drain & pull it off. Never had a problem doing it this way & I’ve done 20 batches on my Gen4 35l to date. I...

Have you checked your water profile? Also, when you start these units they need to be cleaned & rinsed before use. Use citric acid to clean the mirrored bottom. Then do a thorough cleaning of the unit.

    Cleaning your Bag

I have used a citric acid soak. This seems to open the pores better than PBW. Also less caustic & less worry about rinsing out the PBW.

Large Equipment: Where does it live?

I finished my basement, put in a basin sink, pump toilet & finished the space for brewing beer. It works great!!!

Doesn’t matter. I’ve done it both ways with the same result.

If you close the recirculation riser valve when you turn your pump off, this will prevent siphoning back to the pump.

I also bought use a grain bag. It goes into the Gen 4. I tighten the bag around the outside rim of the Gen4. Then I drop the grain tun into the bag. I am able to reuse the bag 4 times depending on the hop blend I put into the bag during the 60 minute brew schedule. This method keeps everything...

    No C02 in kegged beer

It sounds like you have too much CO2 in you beer. You need to balance the beer. Lowering the PSI will not allow the CO2 to balance to 10-12 PSI. Before you tap a beer, pull the relief valve & relieve the pressure. Make sure you have your CO2 turned off when you do this. Keep relieving the...

Carbonating Keg Lid with Diffusion Stone Not Holding Pressure

I had the same experience. I dropped the use of them. As one reply stated, once you add CO2 to the head space, CO2 under pressure begins to equalize in the liquid. For me I cool the beer & CO2 to 37f & the process takes a week. Please note: pressure has to remain constant. I do my pressure at...

    No C02 in kegged beer

Assuming you have CO2 & no leaks in you keg, a fail safe way of adding a volume of 2.4 to 2.7 volume of CO2 is to set your temp to 36f & your pressure to 10-12 psi and let it go for 7-10 days.

Stainless corny with PBW foam residue

I have found that citric acid is a great method to remove any films that collect over time. I have also used it for a substitute for a PBW cleaning.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I use a traditional grain brew bag that handles all the hops. It works great to minimize trub. I pull it out & drain it at the end of a boil & it works great to keep the beer clean.

The Bluetooth thermometer will read the setting you put for your mash & takes over for the temp of you mash in. It overrides the built in sensor.

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

To get my Brewzilla Gen4 working with good repeatability, I took three steps to get there. After each step I did a brew. Step 1: calibrate to 139f on the low side and 212 for my maintained boil. Note; worked great using an analogue temp gauge in the mash. But, still too many over shoots...

Let's see your bathroom brewing setup

Here is my year round set up in my basement bathroom. The floor temp remains 65-70F & it lit smoothes out my fermentation temps.

    Checking kegs for leaks

I worked on the Coca Cola picnic premix team using Corny Kegs. You need to pull out the “out” pipe , clean it inside & out. Then replace the little o-ring on the tube. Replace the one on the CO2 side also. Outside of the post rings these o-rings harden & will create small leaks. They may look...

    Looking for the right kegerator

I did the same thing. I would put 4 kegs in and the air circulation needed help. If you go on Amazon & look for small fans with a plug connection, it solved the problem perfectly. Just feed the cord under the bottom seal of the door.

I agree. I set my differential to 2f and it has worked much better to minimize overshoots.
