    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I use 1.5 qts per lb. Then sparge with about 2 gallons. I don’t consider dead space because it drains completely.

    Misc keg o rings material

The tiny poppet o-rings I don’t mess with. Having sold poppet valves in the fluid power industry, I know that it is much better to replace the poppet.

I got the CIP CLEANER & found that it was only good for rinsing. Because I don’t want an extra step, I’m not using it.

I put the grain bag on the outside of the tun. The bag will the capture any fine grains that make through the tun screen. After you raise the tun and sparge your grains &drain them, the grain bag is used to contain the hop additions during your boil. This provides for the greatest hop...

Grainfather G40 vs. Brewzilla Gen 4

I have the Gen4 35l. It’s been a great unit to work with. I am a Hands-on type of person. Because it’s an all-in-one design, I was drawn to it. When I moved into my current place I did not have room for a three vessel system anymore. I have programmed many controls during my career. I found the...

Broken Glass Carboy Horror Stories Compendium

30 years ago I got two glass carboys. I got them in Mexico & paid $6.50 each. The glass is very thick with ribbing. Never had a problem with them. I never worried too much about them. I stopped using the when I went with SS fermenters & never looked back.

    Changing Draft Beer Lines?

If I change types of beer I pull the tap & lines, rinse the lines, & clean the tap. I use brushes and run them through the lines & tap assembly. I replaced the line after 10 years of use. If I have a question about residue in the line I have a cleaning system that’s I can run PBW or citric acid...

Kegerator / regulator issue? - beer not flowing properly and I'm out of ideas

I was in the fluid power industry for 30 years. I sold many pressure regulators. The low cost regulators often exhibit symptoms like yours when their diaphragms start to fail. They cannot regulate pressures correctly.

I had similar problems until I put in the HED option & got the Bluetooth thermometer. Now I control the mash temp with the Bluetooth and it works great with these additions to the Brewzilla.

    Beer came out wrong

You are picking up the trub that settles when you keg a beer. Make sure you have the out riser trimmed up enough to clear this. Sometimes you can get a block in the tube which can be resolved by increasing the pressure to clear it & then reduce the pressure.

    How do you buy grain?

I buy kits because of problems with mice.

    Cleaning your Bag

I soak my bag in citric acid overnight. It works great and it rinses out very easily. Keep in mind that citric acid is used in the food industry as a flavor enhancer and is also a natural product that acts as a cleaning agent under the right concentrations.

Your method is spot on to my method also. I have never had any clogs.

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

Since the controller doesn’t give a clear signal the the pump is on or off, for safety I move the riser valve to off. When I pull my grain tun out I need to remove the recirculation arm. Once I drain my grains and finish steeping them, I reattach the recirculation arm and open the valve to start...

Changes to my current setup... and need advice!

With my certification in Fluid Power & over 20 years in the industry, I would highy recommend using a manifold with check valves. This way you can use a single CO2 tank without the worry of a trying to balance the gas using a Y connector. Of course with a little ingenuity you can add check...
