Received my water report from Ward Labs.

Water reports look pretty solid. Youve got some nice soft water. As @Brewskey said what seems to be the problem with the beers?

    German grains

Wyermann is one brand, Avanguard is a totally separate brand. Wyermann has different options which include Barke varieties of pilsner and vienna to name a few.

    German grains

I love wyermann but it’s a little pricey. I’m currently working through a sack of avanguard and the beers have been more than solid. I can tell the difference between the three ranking taste: 1. Wyermann 2. Avanguard 3. Bestmaltz IMO

Best dry yeast for a German Pils?

I’ve used both 34/70 and Diamond. My preference is Diamond. I perceived the beer to be more malty and crisp but that could be all in my head.

    Home Brew Application

I personally made the switch to Brewers Friend from BeerSmith about two years ago and haven’t looked back. Easy to use, web and app based and they have a nice community of dedicated brewers over there as well.

I like this time at night on HBT

Well @Kent88 the only thing to do now is to nominate a new leader of this post. Someone old enough to share wisdom yet young enough for the newbies to dream of being like when they are older. I nominate @passedpawn
