I flashed with 1.05 this morning and like the new debounce time, nice improvement! Button acceleration still works well enough, so the tradeoff you made here was a good one, in my opinion. Will let it run for a while and see if any issues pop up, but so far, so good. Thanks Mats!

You should be much more concerned about running the compressor for too short a time than too long. However, an excessive run time may be an indication of a problem with the system (e.g. Low coolant). How long are we talking here? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

If you're comfortable with a soldering iron, you could remove the speaker/buzzer from the board on each STC. Or you could just finish wiring up the sensors... :p

Where is your temp probe located? In a thermowell or taped to the side of the fermenter? Can probably help you tighten up the temp swing if you explain how you're measuring temp.

Interesting, I hadn't seen this one yet. Looks like a good option, but my one concern would be the lack of dual-stage capability (it has to be manually switched from Heat to Cool mode and you'd have to unplug your heater and plug in your fridge). An STC-1000, by contrast, automatically switches...

The mini xlr is just a connector, the probe is still connected "directly to the unit". Maybe I'm not understanding the question. Are you worried about the resistance of the connector affecting the probe reading? If so, that should be negligible if installed/connected correctly.

I just use the temp sensor that comes with the STC-1000. If you need a replacement, you can buy them off of ebay for a few bucks. Example here

I've had good luck from Lerway on Amazon. Not saying it's a guarantee, but I've gotten 50 controllers from them and all have been 1.0. Keep in mind that this is "fulfilled by Amazon", so that opens up a whole range of potential sources, as I understand it. Good luck!
