    Oxebar Keg?

I just pressure filled two of these and two almost full kegs from a 60L all rounder. Easy. Being able to see trough these is nice. These things are just like little all rounders. They tip over easy, but they can do anything a keg or fermzilla can do. I think Ill spund one with priming sugar...

Material of Construction - Brewing Kettle

I started with a 4 gallon pot on electric stove. I bought a 30qt turkey fryer with a aluminum pot and made a mash tun when I went all grain. Later I bought a cheap 60 qt stainless kettle to do 10 gallon batches. Now I have a heavy duty 20 gallon stainless kettle and a more powerful burner. My...

    Mash Tun

I scooped the spent grain into a bucket and froze it for my SWMBOs friends chicken's . A bag may have helped a little. I work for a living.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I spent some time under one of my pecan trees today brewing 15 gallons of hefe. SWINBO loves hefe. I wish she would help my bottle it. Both My chillers together in my kettle took the wort to 85F in 30 minutes. It's chilling in an ice bath now. My brew shed is full again. A brewers work never ends.

    Mash Tun

I just brewed a 15 gallon batch a hefeweizen with my bazooka screen. Mash drained great. I used no rice hulls.

    Mash Tun

I don't understand why use a bag if there is a ball valve and some kind of lauter screen? A valve and screen are cheap on amazon. WIlliams has a screen on sale for 49¢. Cheaper than a bag...

    Mash Tun

A ball valve and a bazooka screen is all you need. No bag is necessary. I use a 70 qt cooler. With a single batch sparge I can mash a little over 30 lbs. I don't want to lift a hot bag that heavy. I don't have to. Denny brew all the way,

    Pre-Boil Gravity

I take a pre-boil gravity sample when my kettle is at the pre-boil volume. When I have that I know my ending boil gravity.

    Mystery keg

You could use a carbonation lid on it to get a gas post.

    Propane burner

I recently upgraded to a KAB4. I with it I can make a 15 gallon batch in under five hours. I also upgraded to a 80 qt kettle. The KAB4 is rock solid. My old Bayou Classic high pressure turkey fryer has served me well. I have a 30 psi regulator on it. After hundreds of batches it still works...

    Hops.... Mosaic/Galaxy/Sabro pairing

I have IPA close to that serving now, but it's Galaxy/El Dorado/ BRU-1. Over a pound of hops in 10 gallons. 70% 2-row, 20% Vienna and 10% wheat.

Why no higher end picnic taps?

I just got one of these but have yet to use it. I think it probably works best a on growler, not in a keezer. It may be difficult to use one handed if not fixed to the keg. He says you can serve at 15 psi with one. It was added in with my flotit for another $20. I guess it should be on ebay soon.

When is a secondary fermenter a good idea?

There are a number of reasons I would use a secondary (pre-packaging) but Northern Brewer instruction isn't one of them. I have a 1/2 in SS cane and im not afraid to use it.

    Brewtoad shutting down

Ill miss it. I liked Hopville better because the UI was so simple. The Toad did more though. I guess Ill grab my more important recipes and move on, again.
