Working on electric brew progress questions

To save time and processing resources, your camera doesn't actually rotate the picture when you take it. Instead, it saves metadata about the state of the camera's rotation to the image's EXIF data. The software used to view the image is supposed to read that orientation data and rotate it...

No problem. Also, here's the link to the cable I used to make the cord: 6-4 600-Volt Black Stranded CU SOOW Cord

These are twist lock connectors. It's hard to see the ground in my previous pictures. The ground is on the outside of the connector and lines up with the ground on the flanged inlet when they're twisted together. Here's how I go from wall to panel: -> -> -> Inside panel wire...

Yep, but the diagram is evolving as I build. It's a 50A 4-wire setup. Here's the diagram (also attached as a PDF). .

    Neutral wire gauge question

OK, cool. I understand it much better now. I was totally missing the return path concept (duh!) so didn't get the loop analogy. In my case, I have all of my 120V devices connected to L1 (black wire), none on L2 (red). So, when measured, my neutral wire will always show the sum total of...

    Neutral wire gauge question

Ah, yes, that makes sense to me. Thanks!

    Neutral wire gauge question

Thanks. Can you give me an example of what a "loop path" might be?

    Neutral wire gauge question

Can someone please explain to me how I should properly step down my #6 AWG white neutral wire coming into my panel to the #14 AWG wires running to my pumps and other 120v devices? I understand the hot wires are stepped down with breakers to protect the smaller gauge wires from current they...

    Sam's Brew Box

OK, here's how I patched my laser cutting mistake... just glued the scrap piece in and used a dremel sanding drum to grind it down to the same size as the hole in the enclosure. Needs a little more sanding here... Finished and cleaned up with some acetone...

wiring diagram - have I missed anything?

Hmmm... I'm glad I asked. I don't know.. I think they probably do. When I was laying this out, I assumed when the switch closed the circuit, electricity would flow through the LED and whatever else was connected to it. Like when a pump switch is turned on, current would flow through the LED...

OK, well, I got the hang of Visio and posted a diagram here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7716187#post7716187 Looking for some feedback. Thanks!

wiring diagram - have I missed anything?

Hi! Please take a look at my wiring diagram and let me know if I have any wires crossed. The build thread is here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=580746 I didn't label the wire gauge but everything before the breakers is 6 AWG. I have 10 AWG from 32A breakers to the elements...

    Sam's Brew Box

Thanks guys! I should be able to post some more pictures with all the external components mounted tonight. That will leave the guts... Do I actually need a wiring diagram? I understand (for the most part) how to wire this thing up... I started laying out a diagram in Visio but I'm not...
