    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

That's what I assumed but appreciate the response. I am a free market guy so a perfectly valid response :) Cheers.

    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

Curious. Are you referring to the below or a new product yet to be launched? As a hobbiest I just can't get myself to put down more than ~$300-400 (definitely not 800-1k) on a chiller alone when you also need the rest of the system to put it to use. I've always found it strange that these...

    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

I am planning to go this route. I'll find a dorm fridge with a freezer compartment and bend the freezer coils into a glycol reservoir. It will take me a few weeks as I am currently traveling but will revert back with initial findings when I have them.

Of course I find it 2 minutes later in the Equipment sub-forum. Link below for those who are interested... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=628635

    Small scale glycol chiller question

Thanks. I cannot for the life of me find the post but will keep looking. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd owe you a home brew :)

    Small scale glycol chiller question

Thanks. Very much appreciate the info. I am also considering a mini fridge and bending the freezer coils into a glycol solution as my chiller. I suppose the direct contact with the glycol solution is more efficient in the mini fridge but wasn't sure if the mini fridge had a net lower cooling...

    Small scale glycol chiller question

I want to be able to lager, crash chill, and ferment more than one batch at the same time. But I only do 5gal batches and am having a hard time putting down $1k for a turn key chiller alone. I'd prefer glycol given a lack of space for several ferm chambers but I do have an ability to stack my...

WTB Ss Brewtech 7gal Brew Bucket

Let me know if you have one new or used. I live in Illinois and can pickup but may also be willing to have it shipped. I will also be looking for a wine/beverage fridge to put it in (glass door preferred). M

    Wiring issue in control box

I use Honeywell transformers to control 2 24vac gas valves. Work as they should. Honeywell AT140A1000 40Va, 120V Transformer - 60 Hz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000K2EC7K/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Hybrid brewing

Software is CraftBeerPi (CraftBeerPi.com). Controller was DIY. I just rebuilt to integrate gas side - pics below. Putting the full kit back together tonight.

    Hybrid brewing

I use a hybrid setup. I used to run HERMS on all gas, but I recently switched to gas HLT/BK with a 120V RIMS tube driven by a CBPi headless controller. The RIMS uses a 12" 1500 watt element which gives ~52watt per sq inch (ULWD required for a RIMS tube). I find it more than enough for...

    Condo brewing

I do both 5 and 10 gallon batches, and the keggles work great. If you are concerned about boil overs, I highly recommend fermcap-s. Works like a charm.

    Condo brewing

I am just finishing the build of a second control box. I decided to automate the propane side of my kit, and the original box would have been too small for the added components. I'll open up the old box and snap a few pics for you tomorrow.

    Condo brewing

I have a mechanical closet downstairs that stays cool year round. I throw a fermentation wrap around my carboy controlled with an ink bird to keep temp around 69. Without an actual fermentation chamber (yet!), I stick to ales.

    Condo brewing

Thanks! I run PBW through them, scrub and hose them down on the patio after use. After drying, I lug them inside and stack in storage. Makes the brew a bit longer than ideal, but it works.

    Condo brewing

There are so many ideas and sources of inspiration floating around these forums, I decided I should share my journey over the past few months... Have a condo in the city (Chicago) without a dedicated space for the brewery (but we do have a patio). I started running all propane but struggled...

    SSR heat sink question

Building a controller for my system to be run through CraftBeerPi. I have 4 SSR which will control pumps (120v) and RIMS heating element. My issue is that an enclosure I have now is too thin (given some other obstructions) to mount the SSRs to the typical heat sinks that come coupled with them...
