    30A GFCI power cord

Just got my cord today...this thing is awesome! In case anyone was wondering on the length, mine is 17 feet long. Considering just getting the 10-4 cable alone would cost more than this plug, I think this is one hell of a deal. Here are some pics...

    Leaving water in stainless

You should be fine... I'd cover it of course to keep dust and stuff out. Some people recommend letting water sit overnight, especially if it's tap water, as this allows chlorine to escape.

    Patching a keggle

Thanks for the input guys. I'll think about leaving it as is especially since its going to be my HLT I shouldn't have to worry about moving it a lot for cleaning. I am curious though, if bottom draining vessels are so advantageous, why does everyone put their bulkhead on the side?

    Cool, thanks.

    Patching a keggle

Any one have any fast and easy suggestions on patching a 1/2 inch hole in a keggle? A buddy gave me this for free. He had run a pipe out of the bottom and used it as a HLT. I can use it for now (gonna swap out new plumbing though) cause he gave me his brew stand which he had modified to allow...

    Kegconnection

I bought a triple regulator and high pressure connector hose. Items arrived promptly and worked beautifully. After about 6 months one regulator started having regulator creep ( the pressure kept going up regardless of pressure setting). I emailed them and Todd Burns called me and walked me...

    Keg spacing in keezer

I keep my probe submerged in water on top the compressor hump. I used to keep mine set at 34 with +\- 2 as well. I just recently upped it to 40 after reading an article about correct serving temps. Come to think of it, I don't know if I've seen any frost since I upped it.

    Keg spacing in keezer

I just found out I can squeeze a fourth corny in my keezer. The issue is that they are all wedged in tight which means tight against the keezer wall. My concern is I often see frost and frozen water on the sides. Am I at risk of a freezing issue? My keezer is set at 40 and of course there...

    30A GFCI power cord

I had that thought too. I do have a 110 outlet right in the same area, I was just looking to minimize the number of cables. Since I am looking to run a high output exhaust fan with built in light from my control panel, I may have to have the separate 110 just to stay under the 30 amp limit.

    30A GFCI power cord

actually, won't I need the neutral then? Thee will be several items in the control panel running off of 110. Hopefully PJ can chime in.

    30A GFCI power cord

I'll take you word on it... I understand neutral and ground are not the same, it just looked like the two were tied to the same bus in the spa panel, but upon lookin harder it looks like they may be two separate ones at different heights. I'll just be happy if it's doable to run it safely from...

    30A GFCI power cord

Based on my interpretation of the diagram it would be easier to just buy a three prong dryer cord, cut the 4 prong plug off of the in-line GFCI cord, and splice the neutral and ground on that cord to the neutral from the 3 prong cord. I would of course do this in a junction box, not just wire...

Two kegs in and I'm sold using syrups for variety rocks!

Thanks for the replies... I'd be carbing in the leg and just moving to bottles for storage and serving.

    30A GFCI power cord

I'm in the same boat with a three prong dryer outlet and would be looking at same distance to run a new circuit. I've already taken the outlet apart and there was no separate ground. I will have to look at running a new circuit (which i'd of had to do for a spa panel anyway) or perhaps wiring...

    30A GFCI power cord

That was my thought too. I'm no where near ready for e-brewing, but I've heard these cords are hard to come by and given the price, I couldn't pass it up. $25 for this and be able to use existing 220 outlet, or go buy and install spa panel or GFCI breaker in the main panel for three times the...

Just bought all my kegerator stuff....

Congrats on moving to kegs! Technically you can ferment in the keg, but there are two issues to contend with... First there is the CO2. You would either have to buy or fashion a lid with an airlock in it, or manually vent CO2 a lot, or leave the purge valve open. Second, you would have to...

    Sweet Orange Peel

+1 to this.... Go buy a lemon zester. They are only a couple of bucks and are designed to only shave off the zest. Otherwise as you are shaving/grating off the colored part of the peel, stop just short of getting to the white spongy part.

How big is your CO2 Tank?

I have found it also depends on where you are getting it filled and how they are doing it. I used to go to a local liquor store that filled 5 and 10 pound tanks for only 5$, but found myself in your situation where the 5 pounder kept dying way faster than when I first got it. I went over my...
