Would this turkey fryer work for a brew pot?

i think he means this one: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?itemnober=38-614-983-87&partNumber=10211714 edit: the link doesn't work when clicked, but if you copy and paste the url, it does.

Is it just me or does the Sam Adams Longshot Competition seem like a scam?

ok, so maybe "exploitive" was a poor choice of wording. hopefully this will make my opinion clear: i think the deal sucks and i wouldn't enter the contest.

Is it just me or does the Sam Adams Longshot Competition seem like a scam?

i agree with the OP. their intent is to market it and potentially make millions of dollars off of the winning recipe, and the only payment to the person doing their research for them is $7k. seems exploitive to me, but to each their own.

    Bay Area Welder?

when i lived there (less than a block away) in the late 90's, there were plenty of small specialty jobs being done at Mork's. never hurts to contact them and ask.

suggestions for my third brew appreciated

i'll be bottling my second brew (a PM wit) later today, and i'm trying to decide what recipe to do next. being new to this, i don't have enough knowledge to look at a recipe and know whether i'd like it, or even be able to accomplish it. so i was wondering if any of you all might have some...
