    Bad Pack of Wyeast 2112? What is the lag time?

    I have had the same issue. If the yeast is a few months old give it a few days to get going. You will have much better luck. I have only had one bad pack and that was because it was frozen. I had 4 freeze solid and 3 still worked. Just be patient. :-)

    I have never used dry yeast before. I only use Wyeast or White Labs. I had a fried that used dry yeast but after a while all of his beer tasted the same. But he always just added the yeast to warm tap water. EB

    I have made this batch 3 times. The first 2 time my friend did not mill the grains well so I had ver log OG like 1.05 and 1.06. I did it today with the same grill bill from Austins and I hit the mark of 1.111. It is in the primary with the same yeast from the last batch. It is looking great! EB
