    we have ABC stores here in NC that actually have that "ABC" on the side of the building. Our stores only sell liquor. No beer and no wine. I understand some states are different; in colorado liquor stores sell all three. I don't know about FL

    that would depend on what your principles are. baiting whitetail deer is legal in most states. i do not hunt over bait (or near it for that matter).

    the 2 row will convert itself and some if not all of the starch in the crystal as long as - like the bird said - keep the temp between 150 and 158 the difference between steeping this and mini-mashing it is the efficiency you'll get from the sparge

    Who's brewing this weekend?

    walker, have you thought about using special roast instead of the black patent? I used a pound in my PRA and it's got a great roasty flavor that might do well in a porter. you might have some issues with color without the BP, but with a porter I'd imagine taste is the primary factor.
