My main concern would be the size of the pot but if you've already been using one then you know what you are getting yourself into. You would need something larger if you were doing a "bigger" beer that you have to boil down. I think there is a way to disable, or at least bypass, that timer...

Thank you for the heads up. I've been looking for a deal on a 6 gallon carboy for a while. Almost drove 3 hours to pick a few up for $30 each over the weekend (craigslist). I'm glad I didn't! I just got one for now, but may pick up a few more if I like it when it gets here.
