    Cats

One of my cats did that. Not sure which one as I had 4 at the time, but have a really good idea. There was a trail of rabbit pellets around the living room. It wasn't the rabbit through the cat door that was impressive, it was getting the full size jack over the 6' fence.

    Stupid Joke Thread!

I can't believe it took this long... I would have done it long time ago if I was in the soy industry. Possible that they had to wait for copyrights to expire, assuming it existed.

    Dogs

The look I get every morning I try and sleep in... this little sh!t slowly crawls up from the foot of the bed up to the pillow and stares at me. Then creeps a lick if I keep ignoring him.

Cleaning brewing equip easier with Cider?

There are a ton of variables here... But I'm making the assumption that your cider is dry, meaning their just isn't much for residual sugar sticking to things, whereas most beer has varying degrees of sugars, amino acids, minerals and proteins (see beerstone). Along the same lines, beer...

...And taste like meat.. For the most part, I have wondered this Myself. However, I don't mind non-meat sausages, with the explicit statement that I do not eat them as a meat substitute; rather, I respect them for whatever they may be. The sh!t that they make to look and taste like meat can...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

@NGD Mostly nailed this. Traffic from Tahoe or Reno in a snowstorm can be brutal. Bumper-to-bumper crawling. That 87mile journey has taken over 6-8 hrs if there is an accident. Keep in mind, most of California doesn't know how to drive in the snow. Sh!t, most of California can't F-ing drive...

I love plant-based sausages. All-beef sausages. Cows eat plants, therefore all beef sausages are plant-based.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Mostly this and is quite relevant. Electric/battery mower isn't good enough for my front or back yard let alone both in a day. Weed whacker and blower are, just barely but i have two batteries and have to wack-then-charge, mow then blow or I run out of juice. I've been eyeing battery mowers and...

Fermenting cider under pressure, it's a win for me

This all takes place in primary, even if you transfer off the lees into a second vessel, you are still in primary fermentation. Second fermentation is where you start converting malic acid into lactic acid by way of malolactic conversion. That tones down some of the sharp sour apple flavors in...

Fermenting cider under pressure, it's a win for me

With cider, expect 100% attenuation until you exceed the alcohol tolerance for the yeast. Primary Sugars are fructose and sucrose, both of which are simple sugars that will ferment dry. I've seen some sider kits that use dme. Not sure when this is considered graff vs cider with dme additions.

Hard Seltzer with a homebrew feel?

No link, and I'm calling myself out on being too lazy to look. I know I've read about them on this site, check the mead forums. Don't waste your time with strips. Buy a meter on Amazon. They are under $20. They aren't as accurate or precise as the high end lab stuff, but more accurate than the...

Hard Seltzer with a homebrew feel?

I'd check your ph if possible. It should hit zero, unless something is out of whack stopping the yeast. If ph is good, add another dose of nutrients. If ph is too low, you may need to add something to make it less acid. I think ec1118 is good above a ph 3.0 but struggles as ph falls. Sugar...

Hard Seltzer with a homebrew feel?

Your weird surface chunks just look like yeast rafts. But 2nd the comment on too much headspace. Fine for primary but get it into a smaller vessel once it starts to slow.

    Soda sweeteners?

Just a clarification, but is this hard soda or non-alcoholic. My assumption is n.a. but thought I shouldn't assume.

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Looks like a bottom round or ball-tip. I also like to smoke eye of round. I'll thin slice it for dips and sandwich lunch meat.
