What is your go-to hangover remedy?

internet acronym of the day: G.I.R.L. Guy In Real Life. Always assume you are talking to or looking at pics of a guy unless you actually see them giving birth. External plumbing may be surgical.

Extract Kits with the best most complete instructions?

I've never brewed from a kit, but I have used kit ingredient lists as a base model for some of my brews. My opinion is that brew instructions are similar to cooking recipes - all are relatively good guidelines but you have the freedom to vary to your needs. Hop timings are sort of important in...

    Hard cider mirky cloudy yellow

Gelatin, knox, unflavored jello. Some people will add to beer or cider before cold crashing to help clarify. The jello helps bind with some of floaties and "clear or clarify" the beer/cider/wine. Personally, I don't always add. Usually time clears things up just fine and most ciders/wines...

What is your go-to hangover remedy?

Besides the prevention BS and the drink water between beers BS. It's sound advice, but those ships have sailed because you got DRUK AF and lost the logic telling you to stop. My preferred cure, traditional Phô or Menudo, though I'm usually unable to go get them. So, usually quick ramen with pho...

    Foul odor and slow fermentation

Just guessing as there are many variables at play, but sounds like you've got a case of rhino farts. Smells kinda like sulfur/eggs. Usually caused by stressed yeast. High temp as you mentioned can cause stressed yeast. Not punching down the fruit cap or stirring to degas can also stress the...

I'm assuming it's your first time with fresh pressed juice? Just give it time. Lots of time.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Lol, my wife is in charge of congee too. My chicken stock is far better than hers, but the instapot has nearly leveled that field. Not quite as good with foster-farms or similar big birds. Best flavor comes from asian chickens or similar breeds (the long skinny free-range that looks like...

    non alcoholic beer and vodka

    Approx 30ml of 40% vodka will yield 4% beer.. 30ml of 40% vodka is 12ml alcohol. 275+30=305 12÷305 = 3.9% Edit, first line said 20ml but math showed 30ml. Correct is 30ml.

Yeast Sank, No signs of fermentation

Airlock activity does not equal fermentation. A poor seal can create a small leak that bypasses the airlock. Airlock activity is not simply fermentation, but the displacement of gas in an inclosed environment. The fermentation must create enough gas to displace the headspace. Amongst other...

Is it possible to use priming sugar in a keg?

I also keg condition if I have the time. Sometimes the first pour is a little cloudy. Sometimes I'll waste a warm foamy pint through a picnic tap before putting it in the kegerator just to clear out any free-floating bottom dwellers, but usually the cold-crash is good enough to pour clear after...

    Random Picture Thread

Couldn't state it better myself. Ive found some beautiful mushrooms, some that I'm relatively sure were safe. But, not confident enough to be sure.

What's really identify a Beer from Wine etc ?

Without seeing your recipes, I don't know that I can provide specifics beyond what @Maxkling already said. However, it's important to note that regarding online recipes there is an astounding amount of misinformation. It is quite possible that you saw two different recipe names (mango beer and...

What did I cook this weekend.....

That's close to the one I make (no cinnamon) and more chill variety, depending on availability. No exaggeration, I've probably tried mole at over 100 Mexican restaurants and there are 2 restaurants where I will order mole. If I'm unfamiliar or it doesn't say on the menu, I'll ask if they use...

    keg chilling time

Water would be approx 80lb at a gravity of 1.000. Unless these are brut (which I know you brew sometimes) they will actually weigh a bit more - guessing probably close 4-8lb more if my inebriated mental math is close to correct.

What did I cook this weekend.....

The board I'm on is rated for 450 (maybe 500). Wifes board is only rated to 250 (or 300). Not sure how big your full-size doodles are, but my doodle-mutts are definitely travel-ready. Combined weight is only 23lbs.
