    Beer line cleaner

I just run hot water after the beer line cleaner has sat in the lines for 15 mins. I used to follow that up with sanitizer, but beer will be in those lines soon and its in a cold environment so I figured I would save a step.

Will a keezer in a hot-as-hell garage foam?

My garage hits 100+ in the summer. With my keezer, I found longer than needed shanks and a small fan mounted to the inside collar helped with foaming a lot. The longer shanks kept the taps cooler and the fan circulated the cooler air evenly. The first pour will still have some slight foaming...

    Star San in spray bottle

Another vote for distilled water. I buy a gallon, add 6mL to the jug, shake, and use. Pour some into a spray bottle, use the rest to sanitize larger items. Lasts months until I use up the gallon jug.

    Sierra Nevada Resilience

I'm sure many of you know, there is a homebrew recipe of this beer on the AHA website with a link to the corresponding Camp Fire charity. If inclined, grab the recipe and donated a few bucks. Pass the word.

    It can't be this difficult!

But it is this difficult :) Not really, but there are a lot of choices (see above, right?) You might want to consider how quickly you want to start and current funds available: I started with a spa panel and still dragon type set up plugged into the dryer outlet, all for about $100 at the time...

(e)BIAB vs. 3-vessel - Give me your opinions!

I prefer what I call a hybrid of the 2. Maybe a 2 vessel? Mash run cooler with a mesh bag hooked to a pulley system, batch sparge. Kind of tiered so I only lift a 2 or 3 gallon bucket twice into a kettle that was a hlt a few steps earlier in the brew day. I use removable hot rods from bobby m. I...

Thinking about going BIAB. Anyone one with regrets? Tips?

If you get a chance, beg or borrow some equipment to try BIAB first. I found I actually prefer a hybrid approach: I use a bag in my cooler, hoist it like BIAB, and batch sparge. One kettle, one cooler, and a bucket to hold first runnings. No new equipment needed. Wish I knew that before I bought...

    Counterflow chiller

Counterflow chiller from NY Homebrew Supply. Inner tubing is 1/2 inch copper tubing, 25 ft long. Used for about 18 months. Garden hose hook-ups for water, staight "plain" lines for wort. Switching gears, going back to IC. Nothing wrong with chiller. Local pick up south of Sacramento, Ca. $75.

    Parents who brew...

I agree with what's been said. To echo others, it may actually get harder to find time as they get older. I dialed it in early (do as much prep as possible the night before, make sure the wife gets 'her' time, start early the next morning, schedule brew day on the calendar, etc) so now it's part...
