Hey guys, this is the first time I had a huge blow off form fermentation. The picture is a stout I brewed. I used Wyeast Irish Ale Yeast and it went nuts. My question is this. Now that it has been about a week and a half and fermentation has slowed do I need to change the blow off line...

i am sure this has been asked, but i couldn't find much. I don't have lagering capabilities, so what is your thought about brewing an Octoberfest type of beer with the San Francisco Lager yeast? It should maintain lager characteristics, but at close to ale type of temperatures. Good idea...

I never would have thought that I could do this upgrade myself. I got the harbor freight step bit, modified the 1" wrench to take off and put on the elbow taps and jumped right in. Went really smooth, looks great, couldn't be happier. I don't think I saved any money vs buying a double tap...

So....enough time has passed.......a few of you indicated you were going to brew this........how did it turn out? Would I need to modify anything for a full boil instead of the partial boil?

Well, I sprayed with water and have not seen much to take a picture of.........i guess i will keep spraying a couple of times a day. If I see them again I will get a pic. While I was spraying today this guy flew off the bine........what the heck is he, some kind of beetle? I numchucked...

I'll try to post a picture later today. I don't see anything moving around, or maybe I am not looking hard enough. When I run my finger across the brown dot they smear the brown and is sticky. But with the webs I ahve seen I thought spider mite from the get go.

I see some little brown dots on the back side of some leafs. I also see some small spider webs. Spider mites? I can post pics tomorrow if needed. thanks.

Stuck bung update!!!!!!!! Ok........I got my bung unstuck!!!!!!! (What a relief!!!!) I struggled with it for 10-15 minutes, broke a coat hanger in the process. Almost gave up and just pushed the bung all the way into my better bottle, but I couldn't get that to even budge...

Would I go with 3/8" tubing for 3/16" beer line? Stupid question I am sure, but I can screw up anything.

ok....you guys sold me, I am adding a tap. I picked up the step drill bit from Harbor Freight for $15.....same thing from sears would have cost me $45. Do I need to drill a pilot hole or anything like that or will this bad boy just self tap? Anything else I need to know before I go for it?

I have seen this a few times surfing the boards. Does running the beer lines through the copper tubing really keep the beer colder in the tower? I am about the at a second faucet to my tower and could take care of this at the same time. Thanks!!!
