    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

It was my initial fear that the mix would throw off the batch completely. Oddly enough, it's less like the chocolate taste then anticipated and simply adds a subtle taste. The main "chocolate" part was removed (the thick, white milky stuff during boiling) so it's not nearly as strong as it...

    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

Just reporting in: I made the recipe with a few exceptions and additions (1 gallon) 1. Used Chocolate malt mix. Drained the thicker part of it near the end of boiling and used 3.5 Tbsps (for 1 gallon). Though I'm noting to reduce it perhaps by 1 more Tbsp for a more even flavor. 2. Excluded...

    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

Hmmm...Do you force carbonate your Root Beer or did you use yeast? First two batches of mine using a different recipe I used Champagne Yeast but I think it gave my Root Beer a terrible taste. So....next batch would you suggest trying to use white sugar? Or if it's molasses, how much in place of the white sugar? Should I use the...

    Rootbeer Questions and General Recipe

Some people use Crazy8's version of the recipe and he boils for the entire time which, for them, has seemed to work. I merely simmered and lightly boiled. Thanks for the reply! How did you go about adding the yeast? Mixing it in or leaving it on the top when it reached the right temperature?

    Rootbeer Questions and General Recipe

Hello, everyone! I'm relatively new to the Root Beer brewing scene and I've been going through different recipes trying to figure out that recipe that'll be my go-to for making Root Beer. General Recipe I used: MAKES 3 GALLONS 12 Qts Water 36 oz. Honey 6 Star Anise (TRY WITHOUT) 3/8 tsp. Salt...
