    co2 not entering keg

I'm not sure what you mean by the plastic pin being backwards. The kit I got came with the gas tubing and the plastic disconnects pre-assembled, and when I push the pin inside the disconnect with a pen, gas comes out fine. I even disconnected the gas IN post from the keg and attached it...

    co2 not entering keg

Yep it's on. When I push the button on the disconnect on the gas, gas comes out fine. It comes out lower pressure than the 25ish PSI the regulator says, but it still comes out...about 5 PSI lower. I just got my tank filled today. It's worth noting that my kit came with this little...

    co2 not entering keg

I just double-checked to make sure I didn't mix up the liquid out/gas in posts when I rebuilt the kegs and replaced the o-rings. I didn't. Also tried a different keg and tried the other gas line, same issue. I even tried disconnecting the cobra tap from the out post to see if that was an...

    co2 not entering keg

Sorry for the spam here, obviously this is my first time kegging :x So I'm trying to sanitize my first keg for use, I dumped about a gallon of sanitizing solution in my keg and pop on the co2 connect on the IN post and the cobra tap on the OUT post (I have the dual-body kegconnection.com...

    dual-body reg question

NM - mod can delete (unless someone finds this helpful), I got too excited. By guess and checking with a marker in the gas quick disconnect, I found that when the shutoff valve is exactly parallel to the gas line, it's on! Otherwise, it's off. Clever.

    dual-body reg question

Simple question, but couldn't find the answer in a search. I have kegconnection house-brand dual-body reg - like so: The shutoff valves aren't labeled. Which way is open and closed? I ask because I'm testing out my equipment (i.e. playing with my toys) and I noticed that the...

    new to kegging (carbonating/conditioning question)

So if I wanted to condition my keg, I should hook it up to the gas for a week or so at serving pressure, give it a chance to carb, then unhook it and set it aside until it's ready to serve?

    new to kegging (carbonating/conditioning question)

I've been searching this forum for a few days now trying to come to a consensus on this, but there doesn't seem to be a real authoratitive response, so apologies in advance for repeat questions. A little background - I have the kegconnection.com dual body reg 2 keg kit and 4 cornies from them...

    temp controllers

I'm using one of the temp controllers listed in the OP's post, and it seems to be just fine. If your freezer is sealing well and insulated well (as most are), there shouldn't be much of a problem with temperature fluctuations. Just don't open it and close it all the time. My keg freezer turns...

    auto siphon + bottling wand

Try getting it started first without the bottling wand attached and clip off the end with a tube clamp. Then attach the bottling wand and bottle as normal.

    hot ferment?

For what it's worth, it's Munton's active dry brewer's yeast. The standard type that comes with a lot of the Midwest kits. I have no idea what fusel alcohols or esters are. It turns out that the AC wasn't working properly for some reason...my apartment blows. I actually have a mini fridge...

    hot ferment?

Hello - I just did my first partial grain with a cascade pale ale kit from Midwest. Everything went well, I was pretty close to the target OG, but for some reason the bucket it's fermenting in is running a little hotter than usual. It's at around 85F, which is weird because I have done a...

    force co2 out of fermenter?

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure. It makes sense, the Co2 buildup means the yeast is still active and doing it's job. Glad to be a part of the community, reading everyone's experiences here has saved me a LOT of the trial and error I'd otherwise go through.

    force co2 out of fermenter?

Hi, first time poster. Been browsing the forums a month or so, made a tasty batch of brown ale, making a Hefe and some Apfelwein currently. thing is the lid has a lot of pressure on it, when i push down slightly the bubbler goes crazy, so obviously there's a lot of co2 built up. my...
