    So who's brewing this weekend?

15 gallon run of honey wheat Ale. Should be fun.

    Where my teachers at?

You're obviously not an English teacher.

    That moment when...

You find out that a full keg of your best Black IPA is now at the bottom of your keezer. Doh! So pissed right now. Loose hose clamp on the shank. I guess even old dogs make rookie mistakes from one time to another. F*ck

    First All Grain Brew

Agree with the other gents, the crystal will add a little too much sweetness. Again, my opinion. As the others have also stated, homebrewing is a learn by doing experience.

    First All Grain Brew

If it were me, I'd back off on the crystal a bit.

Yes, I do water chemistry on my beers. I suggest you go to: https://sites.google.com/site/brunwater/

    Computer controlled Vs. Component/manual Controlled?

Second Jon's comment - the BCS is a great tool. I have integrated the BCS with RPi and a 10" touchscreen on my panel. In addition to pumps and elements, I have a BCS controlling my ball valves which makes my brew day a breeze. Other than filling tanks with water, dough in, and hop additions - it...

Help me complete my AG gear list

I once tried to develop a list of "needed" homebrew equipment and failed miserably. There is no such list. I continue to find new things to build and/or buy and have (tried to) convince SWMBO that they are all very much needed for the brewery. If you find such a list, please share as I'd love to...

    Yeast for black ipa

I like WLP090 for my black IPA. Mine is an imperial with an OG of around 1.1. I would suggest you make a starter and begin with a large cell count, assuming you are shooting for a big beer.

use grapefruit juice or zest in secondary?

Just a quick heads up for people. Grapefruit is very harmful to people who are taking Rx cholesterol medication. You may want to keep that in mind before sharing with friends and family.

New mexico: motorized barley crusher grain mill cart

I understand this is sold, but could you point a guy who wants to build something similar in the right direction? I have the same mill, but would like suggestions on where to get a motor and gear box. Thanks.

New BCS-462 / RPi Control Panel Build

Use xinput-calibrator in the command prompt. Had no issues with the Pi, plug and play. On occasion, the screen resolution is incorrect - not sure why. A restart fixes the problem.

Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462, Automated Rig

I'll second brewApprentice. I've used a number of methods and landed on this little gem. So far, I am very happy with the results. Hop utilization is good, whirpool unaffected, and particles in the plate chiller are negligible. They can customize to fit larger BK too.

My entire house smells like dog sh!t

The cider always turns out great - been on our frequent keg rotation for some time now. Never had a foul taste despite the unfortunate fermentation aromas. :) However, it would be fun to somehow bottle up the smell. I'm sure I could find some nefarious uses for that!

My entire house smells like dog sh!t

So funny story. Thus weekend I whipped up a batch of edworts apfelwein (a house favorite as my wife has a gluten allergy and can't drink beer). Pitched a packet of montrachet yeast as usual. My mom came over to watch the kids during the week and spent the day searching the house for a missing...

What lengths do you go for brewing safety?

Post your best photos of safety around the home brewery. Transporting a 20# CO2 tank home. It was snowing hard that day, so I had to strap it in. Because, safety first!
