Building a Home Brew & Pub Setup

Hey everyone! Been awhile since updating this thread. I ran into major health issues, and two surgeries later, back to feeling like myself again. Started to build out the home brewery downstairs. - Got all 14 five gal kegs plus two 2.5gal kegs for cold brew coffee for the keezer - got a...

Simple fix for keezer temperature probe failures?

Separate nitro bottle (beergas) in addition to the co2. I agree I prefer bottling too, but some of the cheaper wines I keep kegged for the ladies who dont mind a bit of carbonation. I have used pure nitro once goes well with the cold brew coffee, but beergas only adds a slight carbonation to...

Simple fix for keezer temperature probe failures?

Yes..... ..... Okay all seriousness, 14 five gallon, and two 2.5gal kegs. I keep things on tap a long time, i make mostly dark beers, and one NEIPA just to say I have one. Combo of beer, wine, cold brew coffee, soda, gatorade, water, etc. Dont have people over too often, but when I do, its...

Simple fix for keezer temperature probe failures?

I just taped the probe around a soda can and keep it midway vertical in the keezer, like say on top of the kegs Aluminum is a better conductor of heat than glass for example. If that soda can is the right temp so will be the beer.

    Fridge coil location

Kegerators (not converted fridges) have the condenser coils inside the left/right walls, and the evaporator coils on the back wall, but not buried inside it. My Danby Kegerator has a small cutout in the upper right corner if you look inside the box where the gas tube feeds in. If you have room...

    Fridge coil location

When the fridge is running, see which of the sides are warm. That will tell you were the condenser coils are.

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

I do like the baffles, and the condensation drains off them to that rear tray. Though its not really a tray, its a cover for where the internal blower would mount. It wasnt designed to collect water there. The modification I would have to do is seal that tray (held in by 4 wing nuts) and then...

    Jockey Box/ Immersion chiller

Ive used the immersion chiller the opposite way, having it in an ice bath and running hot wort through it to chill it down. Worked great! So yes certainly possible!

    Gridmann Stainless Prep Tables:Decent?

Great info to know! Thank you for the feedback. Yeah let me know about the sink. I'd like to have a sink, but would need to do a lot of plumbing to install one. Future plans if SWMBO allows haha!

    Gridmann Stainless Prep Tables:Decent?

Thank you! I'm on a budget of course. Are they sturdy enough for three 16gal vessels? Are the casters decent?

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

A video so far. I spoke to CS over at HoodFilters.com and they said that as long as the Type 1 hood has an adequate drip edge and removable baffle filters, all that needs to be done is add a 3/8" drain barb to the corner of the drip area and dont use the grease baffles, same functionality as the...

    Gridmann Stainless Prep Tables:Decent?

Wondering what everyone thinks? I realize they are SS top plated and the rest is galvanized steel, so there in lies the cheaper cost, but are they worth the money or wait for a restaurant going out of business to scoop up a stainless table one might have? 72"x24" Gridmann 36" x 24" Gridmann...

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

Hood is all assembled. Got the makeshift temporary ducting out the basement window hung. I debated mounting the fan to the side and hanging the ducting against the wall more, but didnt want to add another 90 degree turn. Its not pretry but looks like it will work great! Made a cardboard insert...

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

Thats my thought too. Concidering the cost for everything (hood, fan, ducting, wiring) is around ~$180, I'd call it a win. :-) Cant wait to try it out later today!

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

Got the hood mounted and the fan unboxed. Seems there is a discrepancy on how much CFM the 10" is rated at. Box says 1150cfm, but the label on the fan and the spec sheet say 980cfm. At full blast this thing move a lot of air! The built in speed controller is awesome! The amazon seller said due...
