Well Midwest has quite a decent return policy and I trust they would honor a broken CO2 tank. I will give them a call and see what will happen. Thanks for the information guys.

Im not to good with names but its the valve on the CO2 canister that says "Open/Close" on it. I can feel it coming out of the bottom of it when i open so i immediately close it.

Cold plate is very cold. cold enough to collect condensation. So i am guessing that is A. a good sign. and B. I am being paranoid about new sounds in the house. I'll check back if there are any problems but seems like the fridge just needed to be warmed up a bit, I think it was in storage...
