    Soldering Stainless steel

Awesome, thanks for the help. I'll probably stay weldless on the element for awhile then.

    Soldering Stainless steel

I'm curious if anyone has success with soldering aluminum to ss. My application will be a bit different than what some others have posted. I'll be using an aluminum lock nut for my element soldered to the inside of my Keg. From what I understand this will act as an anode preventing deposits on...

    My new electric build....in progress

Cool idea with the case. I was viewing this on the iPhone app and it didn't show the pictures. I was completely expecting one of those neon/clear cases with a PID mounted in the middle!

Pics of my 48qt Cooler MLT I just built

I still use my pasta mill with every batch. I've put a few hundred pounds of grain through it so far. It works, and is very cheap, but it takes awhile, and I've had to redo the rollers a few times. I've since upgraded my MLT to a 72 quart coleman extreme with a brass ball valve. The plastic...

    Multiple kegs...

If you want it quicker (ie two days at 35-40psi) disconnect the other two. You'll overcarb them at that kind of pressure. I assume this is what you were asking about. However drat's method works great too, I'm just never that patient.

Please elaborate. I would love another opinion before I make a pump purchase.

    Best Value in a Refractometer?

I thought my hydrometer was more accurate as well, but after using both to check gravities on my last few beers, my refractometer is just as accurate. I have the economy $7 hydrometer, and the $30 ebay refractometer.

Fully Temperature Controlled Fermentation Chamber for about $200

Nice work! I have a crappy mini fridge I need to get mounted in my ferm chamber, it's gonna get warm in my garage soon! The nice thing about that fridge you have is that the coils were already external. I need to cut the coils out of the fridge insulation on mine before I can mount everything in...

Fully Temperature Controlled Fermentation Chamber for about $200

Where did you put the compressor and lines from the mini fridge at? It looks awesome by the way! Can you fit two carboys in there?

My guess is amperage. Again it's a guess, but all other ratings would be much higher.

    Winter is over but.....

I bought a $10 space heater at Home Depot a few weeks back and use it inside of a fermentation chamber. There is no reason you couldn't use it inside of a chest freezer. It's a 1500W model but has a high and low setting. I have always used the low setting on it only because my controller is...

    Hops Blowout- $.85/ounce

Just recieved my order. It took 3 days after payment to get here, awesome! It's packaged very well, and The Pliny Pack is Packaged and seperated by each addition just like he promised. I'm very happy with my order, I got nearly 3 lbs of hops right to my doorstep for about $1.15 an ounce...

    Pliny Pack

Count me in as another that would buy the pack. This would finally get me to order some other varieties in bulk as well. Let us know when this deal goes live!

Cleaning a used Turkey Fryer Pot

I converted my used turkey fryer into a boil kettle. I used dish soap then oxiclean to clean it out. Never noticed any oil after putting water in.

    US-05 Fan Club

Just converted from Notty to US-05 after my last batch. I still love Notty but I was really impressed with US-05, and the beer is the best I've made yet.

    Stir plate on fermenter

A lot of people just use a piece of foil over the top, it still lets some oxygen in.

    wlp001 or nottingham

I just tryed to brew the double version of this but missed my OG by a bit. Ended up fermenting out to 8% ABV. I used the crystal 120 and it tastes really close to AB. I used a notty cake and pitched right on to it, it was the craziest fermentation I've ever had. The massive bubbles from the blow...
