    Being your first AG brew,you probably won't know if it's a good idea until after the first 1 is done.Plan on starting early and leave enough time in between in case you need to run out for some hardware or more brew supplies.It takes me 6 hours to brew 10 gal all grain plus cleanup.     A poly liner for a 50 or ? gallon rubbermaid garbage can,of the proper material (#1,#2) and leakproof of course,that could be washable(reuseable)or not (disposable) for $20 box of 10.Just check for leaks and fill er up.FIAB it'll be called.

    Big difference between 1/4" and 3/8" diameter wort chiller?

    My 25' 3/8 counter flow works great down to about 68 degrees depending on flow rate.Some galvanized T's, brass fittings, drilled out 3/8 compression fittings, and an old hose and BAMsaved enough to brew 10 gal of Pale Ale!

    Dont worry I dumped a whole bottle of bleach in there and got it recirculating round, not through the burn barrel yet.All them pipes and such will be cleaner than my kitchen.And epoxy don't flare up till 250 degrees anyhow.Guess you won't be invited to the grand opening!
