Water help: town draws from various sources

I had the same problem in North Reading, MA so I switched to using monadnock spring water. Nice mineral profile IMO and there is a .25 per gallon filling station in town. Great results so far and not planning to go back to filtered tap ever.

    Too Late to Start Stout?

I brewed a stout just over two weeks ago - 10 gallons I plan to keg this weekend and will begin to "sample" one keg through February and tap the second a week or so before St. Patrick's day. I don't brew stouts often but when I do I regret not doing so more frequently.

I didn't realize which forum this was in. I'm sure I can get it again if you want to try it, let me know and I'll look this week I only have one can left and it is around the best by date at this point (35 days) and I would rather get you a fresh one.

    Sam Adams Rebel Raw?

I am in MA and I got it a week or two ago. $20 for a 4 pack of pounders so its in the ballpark of other big beers for price. As to the taste at first I enjoyed it and was impressed then I couldn't get over how thick it was. If you ever had Rebel Rouser their other DIPA you likely know how...

    Efficiency

The biggest part of efficiency is knowing what your average is so you can plan future brews. When I started all grain my first two batches were around 68. My standard now is 75-78. If you try to brew a recipe off of the internet, this site or a brew magazine you will see they likely list "based...

    Christmas eve brew preference

I got into my house pale Conan version this evening. Was going to go with some bigfoot but I knew it was going to be a several glass kind of night and went with the 5.5% instead.

BEER KITS BELOW COST.....But I need your help!

I'm in for lagunitas IPA. Could go for a nice and quick extract brew day. Is kegging okay or should I dust off the old bottles?

    Donation jar

If things were reversed I wouldn't mind adding to the donation jar but I would never personally do that. I think the difference comes with people who mainly brew to save money. I never really consider ingredient cost into the hobby since the time involved is far more valuable than the raw...

    My First batch SUCKED! Question?

Did you steep or boil the crystal malt? How do you know it sucks if it is still in secondary? Gravity samples? Do you remember the name of the yeast that you used? I'm guessing dry so was it a red, blue, yellow or other color packet?

    Flooring question - house renovation

Neobrew - I read that tongue and groove is not recommended for hardwood, is that incorrect? So you suggest remove everything then plywood only? I am leaning that direction right now anyway to give a slightly higher ceiling will probably result in a mini step down from the hallway though...
