    PicoBrew Zymatic

Hey I’m no fan boy. Reality is they have had a monopoly in the market since its arrival some 5+ years ago. No one (outside of the brewie fiasco, which maybe is the exception that proves the poInt) has been able to produce a reliable competing product. Never mind a better one. Nada, no one...

Brewing is fun. Hanging around and babysitting a thermometer and a clock does not excite me. Not having to babysit for temps and additions is the big plus of the Z for me. I have a hard(er) time bitching about the best fully automatic system on the market. I’ll take it for what it is until...

@Mike Howard I think it is good business to have a few outside people (who have likely agreed) to run the first production units and report back before large scale production and shipping begins. Ask the brewie folks if they would have preferred this approach.

I like it. Excellent idea and execution. Do to hav a link to the material? Hey love good ideas. I thought about something similar, funny though I would have attached it to the lid; not sure why. Fwiw since I started throwing 1-2 hand fulls of rice hulls into the mash I have never had the...

    Closed fermentation.

Closing the loop, reduced the pressure and the yeast finished up quickly. Yummy beer in the works....

You can always put the clear test port in that line as well. GL and keep us posted with the new pump.

Hmmm. First boil, and an increase in pump head required cause problems definetly points to the pump system being your issue. Again, I think it can be only 2 or 3 things. Air in the system reducing flow ( prime problem or leakage), or the pump itself. I am sure you have gone well past that...

Hey Mike, I have read your posts with interest. Maybe we need a new thread just for this kind of stuff?? This discussion is likely just causing confusion with the masses. But that is just my 2 pennies. FWIW I am open to discussion, but I have no desire to argue about this, I don't need to...

    Bad brew day- rethinking hobby

I am saying nope to the ‘need’ to do all that crap. He enjoyed his first beer. He has a stated “confidence”. The nuances of a few degrees different in strike temp and the subtleties of a few degrees of mash temp in the finished product are real, but have nothing to do with making very good...

It’s so hard not to make beer...

Lol Please don’t misinterpret. I am impressed! Not many of us can do it that inexpensively.

Hmmm. My yeast costs more than that... lol.
