    Looking for my first kit

yeah, thats pretty much all you need(other than a stainless brew pot). you might want to just order that kit directly from midwest supplies though. your not really getting a deal with ebay and also midwest will replace anything not included or lost/damaged in shipping.

    Fermentation Issues

i wouldn't worry about it until 48 hours goes bye with no action. anything could affect the times between pitching the yeast to starting fermentation. mine have usually started after around 36 hours.

    secondary?

just what they said. transferring stirs up more yeast for a second yet smaller fermentation. definately worth it

    Sun Dried Tomato

i've had a beer with a whole jalapeno in the bottle. the flavor was terrible, but tomato might be different. my only hold back would be sanatation and the fact that most are pickled in olive oil and i dont know what that would do. try it on a few bottles.

    aeration for a full wort

So... chill wort, pitch yeast and then pump air into the wort for 30 to 45 min.? and could you sanatize the pump by running it for a while in a star san solution?

    aeration for a full wort

just wondering what is the best way to aerate 5 gallons of wort. i can pour vigoriously but is that enough? is it worth buying an aeration pump to be sure there is enough oxygen in the wort?
