    Frustrated with kegging

Don't worry about being blunt - I can take it. :mug: These are all good ideas, folks. I have the keg off of the gas for now. Tomorrow after work, I'll break everything down, and start testing from the regulator on out. I'll report back on anything that I figure out. Oh, to answer...

    Frustrated with kegging

Hey guys. I'm hoping all the smart folks around here can help me out, because I'm about ready to throw my kegging set-up into the trash, after using it for less than a month. Here's the problem - I have a leak somewhere, and for the life of me can't figure out where! It's a slow leak, too...

best bag for pellets in keg.

To be totally ghetto, you can use women's knee-highs, for sale in just about every grocery store and drugstore in the country. I use them for both grain-bags to steep and as hop bags in my boil and secondary (for dry-hopping.)

    First time kegging

Well, got my kegerator assembled after using some Christmas giftcards, have brewed my Blanche de Chambly clone, and in one week I'll be putting it into my first keg. I've decided on my personal force carb method, know how to break down and sanitize my keg, have tested my system for pressure...

How do I run multiple cornies off of one regulator?

So, this is what I should get: Brass Air Distributor: 2 Way Looks simple enough. Gas comes in one end, each corny gets a gas line from the nipples.

How do I run multiple cornies off of one regulator?

Title says it all, really. I'm going to use a gift certificate to AHBS that I received for Christmas to set up my kegerator. I know that it will fit two cornies on the inside, and I plan to mount the gas cylinder to the back. My main question is: what is an economical and fairly idiot-proof...

    swing top bottles

I use those bottles from IKEA all the time. I bottle my apfelwein batches in them, and they hold pressure just fine.

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

3010 + 5 = 3015 Put my third batch in the fermenter last week.

Check my understanding of AG brewing...

Hm. Why would I boil water in the days before?

Already bought, use, and love Beersmith!

Check my understanding of AG brewing...

Maybe I used the wrong term. I just plan on making a simple strainer out of some stainless steel hose braid. Like this.

Check my understanding of AG brewing...

Hm. I think you lost me. :D By "last about 1 hour," do you mean that it takes that long for your sparge water to run through the spent grains, and get all the sweet wort into the pot? Didn't know it took that long.

Check my understanding of AG brewing...

OK, after Christmas I plan on making the jump to AG. Between reading here, Papazian, and other sources on-line, I think I have a pretty solid grasp of what it's going to take. Could you old hands humor me, and let me write out what I think my procedure is going to be? Any flaws/misconceptions...

    Ikea Swing Top Bottles

I use them all the time. I have done two batches of apfelwein in them, and one for each batch of beer (to watch the process better.) The gaskets do not need to be replaced, they are sturdy enough for carbonation, and stand up to multiple uses.

Do I really need a keggle?

Looking at making the jump to all-grain shortly, and I have a few questions. First off, do I need to make a keggle? I really do not drink my batches very quickly, and my wife doesn't drink much beer at all, so five gallon batches last me for quite a while. Thus, a 32-qt pot should do me...

    diy 4 tap kegerator tower...

I have a few questions for Jester, or anyone else who may have built their own PVC tower. I have a small fridge, like a Sanyo 4912, that I am converting to a kegerator. I'll have room for two cornies on the inside, and hopefully my CO2 tank, but I could always run a line to that out through...

It's never too early - critique this Pumpkin Ale!

6.6 lbs. amber DME 0.5 lbs. Carapils 0.5 lbs. 60L Crystal malt 0.33 lbs. brown sugar 1 oz. Goldings hops 30 oz. canned pumpkin ?? spices Here's my plan: caramelize the pumpkin in baking sheets while steeping the grains. Add the pumpkin, half the DME, the sugar, and the hops (for bittering) at...

Can I make a kegerator out of this fridge?

Like the title says. A guy at work found an older but functional GE 6 cubic foot fridge in a corner of our warehouse. It's got an ice-cube shelf occupying the upper portion, and doesn't appear that big on the inside. The total interior height is only 28.5", assuming I can figure out a way...

    Brewing Club - Washington DC?

Well, as you can tell from my handle, I live just outside DC in the Virginia suburbs. There are many resources for the homebrewer in our area. We have our own on-line HBS, Jay's Brewing. Jay used to operate store hours out of his basement, but sadly the zoning board in Fairfax has asked him...
