    Lagering in the bottle

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it would be good to keep them in the fridge for a couple of weeks before drinking them...can't remember why though.

    Lagering in the bottle

I have a batch that I already lagered in the secondary. It has finished carbing in the bottle. What temp should I store the bottles at?

    WORST Non-homebrew you've had!

I don't know if it's the new or the old, but I ended up taking the 5 bottles I had left back to the store. I told them it was skunked and they let me pick something else. It wasn't actually skunked, just crap beer.

Which beer mag to get: All About Beer or Beer Advocate?

My brother-in-law bought me a subscription to Draft, which I can recommend.

How many batches have you brewed?

Sounds like a good idea, and I'll probably go for it. Dunno if I can afford the loss of sleep in the next few months though...I'll already be running on empty with a new baby in the house.:drunk:

How many batches have you brewed?

I don't know where some of you people find the time to do so many brews. With a 2.5 year-old running around the place I'm lucky if I get in 1 brew a month, and with my next about to be born I reckon I'll have even less time.

    WORST Non-homebrew you've had!

Wierd that she would like it...normally the ladies are averse to the hoppier beers. Perhaps they just use a hop you don't like. Have you tried it on tap?

    WORST Non-homebrew you've had!

No way...maybe you're getting bad bottles or something.

    WORST Non-homebrew you've had!

    OMG, sacrilege!!!

How many batches have you brewed?

17 batches in 14 months, but the first 6 of those were Mr Beer.

    WORST Non-homebrew you've had!

Dock Street Illuminator This stuff is total crud. I'm debating whether it's worth swilling down, or if I should just throw it out.

Will I need to add additional yeast at bottling?

What if I lager it for another couple of weeks?

Will I need to add additional yeast at bottling?

I have the same question as the thread title, except I am brewing a lager. It is AHS's Octoberfest, and after a couple of weeks in primary it was at 1.014 - the FG called for in the recipe. I've been lagering it for about a month at 34 - 40 degrees. Should I add yeast? I was thinking about...

    Lagering outdoors?

I got myself a big 36 gallon plastic tub from Home Depot and filled it with water. I think that should take care of most of the temp fluctuation.

    Sam Adams advertising

Um...if you think a little harder about what I said, you'll realise that I was not accusing Nate of being a newbie. In fact I was saying the opposite.

    Sam Adams advertising

You should add this post to the "you know you're not a newbie when" thread. I think you're being a tad anal...the basic message of the ad is that hops are great and Sam Adams uses them. The comparison to wine is a smart way of getting people to think of beer as being on the same level as...

    Practical uses for bad batches

Yeah, something like that.:D It's way over-carbonated, and has a sour taste - which I assume is from the over-carbonation.
