Uh oh. I'm with ya man, started 2 months ago. Now all I do is read this forum and wish time away as I "patiently" wait for my beer to finish up. Enjoy!

First AG, wanting a Basic pale ale

Yeah I know that they have nothing to do with the school, just thought it was kind of fitting lol.

Consistent off flavor in all my homebrews

Now excuse me if this has been mentioned or not yet as I don't have time to read through everything, but maybe you should (assuming you're not already) utilize a hop bag during boil. I found this process removed a gross aftertaste for me because it eliminated scorched hops. Just a thought...

First AG, wanting a Basic pale ale

HEy all,as the title suggests I'm looking to do my first AG. Since I go to Kent State in Ohio I'm thinking of doing a basic pale ale using only east kent golding hops. I'd like around 6-7 abv I think. Any suggestions for what malt to use? My experience is 6 brews from extract to partial mash...

Critique my attmept at a christmas ale please!

So I'm brewing a beer probably Tuesday that I'd like ready by thanksgiving MAYBE and Christmas at the very latest. Originally I wanted to do a partial mash and get around 9.5%abv but my understanding is that it wouldn't be ready any time soon. Instead ill just do a simple extract and steep...

American Pale Ale 15 Minute Cascade Pale Ale

For 5 gallon recipe on a 15 minute boil I'd start work 5.2-5.3. This tends to be the boil off rate for me in my kettle which is tall and slender.

    Why hello everyone!

Quite simply actually, buy the wood from ebay, the stem as well. Drill the holes, shape with a lathe, sander, and rasp, then sand to the preferred finish!

    Why hello everyone!

Oh yeah, my "brewery" name is DiBrewzza's. It's a play on my last name!

    Why hello everyone!

My name is Derek. I'm a college senior studying exercise physiology with aspirations to be in the field of orthotics and prostetics in a few short years. I LOVE beer, as I hope everyone on this forum does. Unlike most college students, I cannot stand the cheap stuff. I tend to gravitate...

    What are you drinking now?

Lagunitas Maximus Ale. Best beer out there, or perhaps their Little Sumpin' Sumpin. I can't decide. Picked up a 6 pack for the Ohio State game and at 8.2% ABV I'm ready for a night.

    question about alcohol?

^^^ Luckily I'm in College and nearing the end of it. I graduate in a semester so I'm not taking too many classes. This leaves me PLENTY of time =) Just got the girlfriend who gets bored. Lol I'll keep it updated though! Thanks for the insight in your spices!

    question about alcohol?

Island lizard: I had the Christmas ale August 4th leftover from a big Christmas in July event they had. Also, I left those out but yea I have cinnamon nutmeg ginger and orange zest planned. The reason I'm doing 5 1 gallon batches is to mix and match the spices and see what I like best!
