BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Has anyone had issues with their BC dropping comms with their controllers? My BC will drop comms with both my ESP32 and ESP8266 for a few seconds then either cycle with trying to reconnect or finally reconnect. Router shows them connected during those times, and neither controller is resetting...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Hah, I would ask if this was a white whale situation, but I think there actually was a whale in that story.

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Thanks, @UncleD For helping me sort through the issue! For the benefit for all here, the lid seemed to be the issue. We aren't sure what led to it, but once I got a replacement one to test with, it became clear the original lid was the point of issue. The original lid will sometimes function...

    Small-scale pressure fermentation vessels?

Thanks @CascadesBrewer. I'll look into these and see if I can rig up a good super small batch system for tests. The spunding setup is all set for me. I have the Kegland one and built two with analog sensors and solenoids to work with BruControl. I want to test various yeast blends to see which I...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Thanks, @UncleD! I see your email. Sounds like a plan. I'll try to help narrow down what may be the issue here. Looks like I get to Guinea pig a little here, hah

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Huh... how about another one for you, @UncleD. I had it all calibrate with water. I then sanitized the keg and lid, with drying around the sensor points and the contact points for the headless sensor. I pushed the sanitizer solution out with CO2, then pressure transferred the beer into the keg...

    Small-scale pressure fermentation vessels?

Well, I came across that myth when I let my bottle-harvested Dupont saison yeast start building pressure while keeping the heat high and plenty of gravity points to go. Fermentation stopped, not a tiny bubble in sight. I removed the pressure, gave the Fermzilla a couple of swirls, and added a...

    Small-scale pressure fermentation vessels?

Yeah.. a big part is just seeing how the fermentations go and act. I know almost all saison strains hate pressure, so one reason I'm interested in this is to find the best yeasts (attentuation-, flavor-, and activity-wise) to blend with to finish fermentation and naturally carbonate in my bigger...

    Small-scale pressure fermentation vessels?

I have several 1.75 mini kegs, so that would work great. But I like the idea of being able to see how the fermentation carries on rather than watching the signs of such through a spunding valve. The PET soda bottles with Kegland piece may be a viable route, as DuncB mentioned.

    Small-scale pressure fermentation vessels?

I figured this is the appropriate forum to post this since it deals with fermentation and yeasts. I am curious if anyone is aware of any small-scale fermentation vessels that can handle pressure. Most are geared for 5gal batches, with systems like the Spike CF5 Unitank capable of 2.5gal as...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

It looks like it is now reading correctly. Maybe some water got on it when I put the lid on and it dried overnight. I measured 5 gal, which got me just below the gas tube in thr keg. It reads 28mm, which sounds about right. The sensor is bouncing with gallon volumes, so I assume that's just...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Great update (and turnaround on pushing it out). No issues with pressure and low calibration now. I tried to do high calibration with just water, but it doesn't seem to be playing right. Does the ToF sensor work well with just water? Or do I need to use something with some gravity/color in it to...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Disregard. Github helped me work out how to get the ESP 8266 recognized as a COM port. Updated, and now I will try again. Thanks!

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

I'll try, thanks for the response! I thought about a firmware update earlier and plugged the headless in to my USB. But I couldn't get the device to be recognized as a COM port. Windows only viewed it as a USB 2.0 Serial connection with some alert shown in Device Manager, and I couldn't work...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Hey y'all! Just posting here in case anyone has had similar issues and can help me sort them. I've sent this issue through the Flite Sense website, but figured maybe someone else has sorted this out. I am using the headless controller, connected through WiFi. I do not have the controller with...
