Check out my crazy new starter flask

Good question. I ordered a special "egg shaped" spinbar of size appropriate to the flask. Should be here in the next day or so.

Check out my crazy new starter flask

Reno Envy: "Round-bottom balloon flask", I think. I wish I could afford the genuine equipment that mates with this but the rest of this project is destined for DIY :D

Check out my crazy new starter flask

HA HA! Nice idea. That'd be something to keep it busy in between brews! Maybe I could pay off some of this other equipment by selling my resultant contraband to the beach peoples. You are right, Coldies, the whole thing is a sphere. I'm working on a short stand for the frige that it can rest...

Check out my crazy new starter flask

I needed something I could do big starters in when necessary. I was thinking 3L Erlenmeyer flask like the rest of the hive, so a few days ago I started surfing the different vendors. My wife peeks over, sees what I'm looking at and says "hang on a sec", and goes in the other room. I can hear...

    425 bbls per year ?

This build is impressive in how streamlined you made your process. Really expandable, you could offer a lot of rotating beers. Batches...

    Freezer Lid Question

I'm just gonna throw this out there. Those little white plugs on the lid likely cover the bolt heads which will make short work of this problem.

What size starter do you make for your 5-6g brews?

Whoops, I should have made an option for "Do the math and pitch exact amount" :D Didn't mean to leave anyone out. I'm totally in favor of doing the math. Seems though that most "yeast starter threads" feature brewers who make a set size starter of somewhat random gravity, rather than doing...

What size starter do you make for your 5-6g brews?

How many of you fellas actually use a full-sized 2(+) liter starter? Seems many brewers here use maybe half or even just a quarter of that amount. Well, let's see how the numbers fall then.

    Howzit? says Hophead from Hawaii

Aloha, internets, from paradise. Small-time extract hobbiest here. After taking a couple years off from brewing, we're jumping back in and stepping up our game a little bit. I was only trying to refresh my memory on the process when I started poking around here and I gotta say, it has...
