My mentor is great to have around when brewing. Great dude and on top of it he gets free ingredients, & can answer all of my questions. Its great to have someone around that knows what they're doing so I dont forget anything as a result of too many samples. :tank:

Bless you guys, thanks for the positive encouragement. It is/was a 5 gallon batch. Not as much splashing as pouring, but they kinda go hand in hand.

Long story short, I decided to aerate before cooling. I was showing a neighbor how to brew (or how not to) it was only my fourth batch & I got careless. It is an Irish Red extract brew. OG was 1.058. We dumped from pot to fermenter, then back to pot & back to fermenter before I realized...

Love that beer, do you mind sharing your recipe? I had a buddy make up what I hope is a similar beer, thinking about brewing it tonight.

Both sound spectacular. If he's just going to get the AG stuff himself, get him something he wouldn't normally get for himself. That's what I think makes the best gifts. You're a kick-a wife either way you go! :rockin:

I think that's a no brainer, he's just worried about his brew. You should be fine. Any plastic that was hot enough to melt & drip was likely pretty sterile from the heat alone.

Pyramid is bringing outburst back full time according to their updated website. I noticed that this year the ABV is 8.3% instead of 8.5%. The recipe this year lists cascade/ct2 - last year it was Simcoe (assuming due to availability) and it also added dry hops in Falconers Flight & Zythos...

Thanks for your help guys! I dont want to screw up the profile too much, but I do want to add additional hops. You have given me some things to think about & I appreciate it.
