    I think I may cry...

Use the extras, if there is such a thing, as fermenters.

Here's a link to John Palmer - I find AAU's to be an easier way to communicate hop bittering

Busted my tank pressure gauge :(

Tonight my 5lb CO2 cylinder decided to tip straight over onto the tank pressure gauge when I took the last empty keg off. Needless to say, without a gauge protector, the tank pressure gauge is shot. Are there any vendors that sell gauge protectors that will protect all three gauges on...

Just filled my first keg - oh yeah!

I think everyone knows how it feels to wait for homebrew to be ready. My new kegging system with definitely make the process faster. No more bottle filling!

Just filled my first keg - oh yeah!

I did a cold crash/gelatin fining experiment on my honey nut brown ale today. Everything went better than expected. The gelatin dropped the sediments out in 8 hours in my 40F garage. :ban: About 15 minutes ago I racked the clear beer into my 5 gallon corny keg and brought it into the 62F...

Crash cooling, hydro sample and kegging question

Cool! I've never had a beer attenuate so quickly. And the surprising thing is that I didn't use starter as I usually do - just a fresh activator pack. Again, I am stunned that I can make a beer this quickly.

Crash cooling, hydro sample and kegging question

First: I recently brewed a honey nut brown ale. I pitched wyeast 1056 on the wort with an OG of 1040. I took a sample today and the gravity read 1008, however, there is still a good amount of yeast in the suspension. Will this affect my gravity reading with a hydrometer? Second: If this...

Alternative CO2 Regulator Pressure Adjustment Screw

I also have a dual body regulator from keg connections. Since the screw is permanently attached to the body (designed to distribute 50 PSI max) I am going to try using this type of hex head screw thumb knob. Hope this helps those who are also converting to a tool-less regulator setup.

Tripple yeast in starter - what to make?

I've got a starter going with yeast that I recovered from a bottle of New Holland Black Tulip Tripple (which was excellent). I have never made a tripple as I am fairly new to the all-grain scene. Does anyone have a recipe recommendation? My MLT can handle a maximum of about 15lb of grain...

    Conical Fermentor Heater

I have a 7 gallon stainless steel conical fermentor that I would like to keep at slightly warmer temperatures for fermentation. Currently the fermentor levels out at about 60 deg F. I have been looking at this type of drum heater, but I am unsure what kind of wattage will be sufficient to...
