Went to bottle my beer today and saw that there are some weird specs floating in it. Also there's some other substance floating around the edge but I'm assuming that's just yeast. What are these specs? Is it ruined? Should I dump it? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

The kit is basically a bag of wort that you dump in your primary, sprinkle some yeast, and away you go. Very low maintenance, and basically a way to try out using the tools, etc.

To date I've brewed a couple batches from 5 gallon kits, and now I'd like to start brewing from malt extract and making my own wort. I'm wondering if anyone has a good beginner recipe they've tried in the past that would be a nice way to ease in. Maybe some kind of springtime beer? I've already...

I just realized that after cleaning and rinsing my carboy, I sprayed it down with idophor and then forgot to dump it out before racking. There was only about a cup of 1:1000 solution in there... trying to decide if it's ruined or not... or if it's toxic to drink?

If I were to rack the beer into secondary overtop of the hops, meaning that then the hops would be sitting in the brew for the full 2 - 3 weeks of fermentation, wouldn't that create a risk for an unpleasant, "grassy" hops taste that I've been reading about? I was planning on bagging the hops so...
