    What is your House beer?

I continue to brew a recipe that I developed some years ago, actually my very first homemade recipe, for a pale ale using warrior and green bullet hops. I call it... Green Warrior (original, eh?)! Occasionally I will introduce a 3rd type to dryhop with but I always try to keep this on hand. I...

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

I put my foot next to the zucchini leaf for scale... Biggest plants I have ever grown!

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

The healthiest zucchini and squash I've ever planted! Tomato plants and pepper plants got a slow start but after generous watering and application of fertilizer they've looked much better. I've been harvesting squash and zucchini like a sumbitch 😀

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

I just harvested about half a dozen small squash and larger zucchini! My brother's pretty upset his garden isn't producing yet. 🤠😀🤓

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Finally getting my 15' x 15' plot looking good. I was watering with gallon jugs due to issue with my outdoor faucets. Now it's fixed, so I have an outside water source!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Going to do my cream ale (cream of three crops) and then get ready for my first saison in a couple of years! Using Nelson hops so it should be great, beer gods willing

You know you're a home brewer when?

When your brew partner/brother confesses to being lazy so you tell him that you'll be brewing and he can stop by anytime he would like. Hate waiting for a brew day for 6weeks... Grrrrr!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Yes, next weekend 😆 sorry, in my head it was completely clear!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Going to brew a cream ale this weekend and also bottle a stout that has real promise. A saison will follow this brew in a couple of weeks.

What I did for beer today

I guess that's what is known as "High Krausen"! It's four days after pitching yeast, some rehydrated us-05. I had krausen at 14 hours!

What is your favorite IPA yeast besides...

I've used BRY 97 with great results

What I did for beer today

Grew some us-05 yeast... In some stout flavored wort.

Just got my herb garden started, and it's cilantro heavy (bought a six pack of plants yesterday 😐)! L-R is Italian basil, cilantro, parsley, chives and more cilantro. Parsley and chives actually survived our very mild winter Lol 😆

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Here we have krausen at just under 14 hours from pitching! Used rehydrated us-05 and this is the best response I've ever had with dry yeast

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just put an American stout to bed after pitching yeast. OG was a bit low at 1.062 but I think it will end up a bit drier than anticipated.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

It's been over a month, so if my lazy brother doesn't want to then I'll brew by my lonesome!

    Best Sugar

I use some DME to prime before bottling, and it's been very reliable. Occasionally will use some to help bump up the OG.

    Local homebrew shops

My LHBS closed back in August 2020... Not sure if Covid was responsible but it sure didn't help. Now I have to drive twice as far or order online. Shiznit.

    What are you drinking now?

Not RIGHT now, but late last night I had two selections from Sierra Nevada... Wanderland nectarine ale (7.5% abv) which was crisp, light and tasty for a high gravity beer. The second was Bigfoot barleywine!! 10% abv, FTW!!
