    My extra small portable kegerator

Add a few ice packs and I'm good to go!

    Mini Kegerator

So I've been playing with this idea. I'll probably never do it because I have a pre-fabricated kegerator... but for someone who's SWMBO won't allow for the size of a kegerator that even fits 2 full size cornies... will one of the cube shaped dorm fridges fit a 2 1/2 gallon?

    Portable Kegerator Ideas

Well I built a small scale portable kegerator. It's not my ultimate goal, but it will work for small parties/BBQs. A 2 1/2 gallon water filled fire extinguisher that I've replaced the dip tube, spout and fittings on. It's pressurized with a 16 oz co2 charger.

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I added an old 5 gallon rubbermaid cooler and cut a hole in the lid. It needs to be refined a bit but here's the final product! It's an iced down 2 1/2 gallon party keg! Total cost was about $70... cheaper than a 2 1/2 corny alone and it's ready to go! I had a few parts lying around and got the...

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

There's ver little contact with the brass, so I'm not too concerned. Plus it will only be used for bbqs/camping type stuff, not an everyday thing. That's what my kegerator is for!

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I found a 30" long 3/8" OD SS tube at the big box hardware store with all of the toilet stuff. I just cut what I needed. All other connections are brass.

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I picked mine up on ebay, it was $38.99 and free shipping. Check craigslist too.

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I didn't have a heating gun, but a propane torch did the trick. Heated it up and cranked on it, broke free. Thanks!

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I put water in it and pressurized with air (co2 charger is ordered, on it's way) and tested it out. Water pours out nice and gentle. I think it's gonna work out great. I'll update when I test it out with co2 and brew.

    Portable Kegerator Ideas

I got a 20 ounce co2 and picked up a kobalt mini air regulator to see if it will work. I don't see why it wouldn't and it's much smaller than a standard regulator. I'll try to post some pics later.

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

Definitely epoxy, it won't budge. So much for a low pressure gauge, at least for now. I replaced the dip tube with a smaller diameter stainless steel one. Replaced the spout with a barb and food grade tube. I'm gonna use a co2 charger so I don't have to replace the schrader valve, plus it will...

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

I had anticipated using a schrader valve CO2 charger on mine. I would think one or two CO2 bulbs would do the trick. The dip tube is stumping me though. I would like to replace the original with a smaller diameter stainless steel one but I'm not sure how to go about it. The gauge and schrader...

    Help with Fire Extinguisher

Alright, I was inspired by the various posts of some folks using a water extinguisher as a keg... so I bought one. They really don't seem much smaller than a 5 gallon corny since they are skinny it's almost as tall as a corny! Much cheaper than a 2.5 or 3 gallon corny though and it will serve...

    Portable Kegerator Ideas

I may have come up with an idea. I am wanting something compact and convenient. At walmart yesterday I saw one of those stainless flip top trash cans, the right one would be oval and about 28" tall. They have a removable liner that I could put insulation between and have a spout come out the...

    Portable Kegerator Ideas

Now I didn't see the truck box one, very nice! Probably looking for a tad more portable though. I don't know of any coolers that are tall enough for a 5 gallon corny though... I saw the trash kegerator, but I'm hoping to get something smaller.

    Portable Kegerator Ideas

I've done a search and seen some fantastic ideas, but I'd like to see if anyone else will chime in with some thoughts. I've been tasked to brew the beer for our company picnic and bbq competition later this year. Not being the guy to do something simple and ice down a keg in a bucket, I plan...
