Changing from 120v to 240v system.

Well, it is possible to change your 120v supply over to 240v. I did that very thing about a month ago. However, it's not as simple as swap out the wiring. How is the PID voltage supplied and can it handle 240v? Additionally, are you running the pump off off the controller? If so, I'm guessing...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

It's been a long time coming, but I finally brewed my 1st batch (NB Caribou Slobber) in my CBS kettle last night! I have the 10G kettle w/no stand. I have my own controller from my previous RIMS system, which I recycled. Overall, I feel things went well. I did have a few challenges, which I hope...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I agree that some calibration (ice water) is better than nothing, and also that calibrating on the high end (where you plan to use it most often is better). However, don't forget that boiling isn't always 212 degrees. It's dependent on your altitude and also the barometric pressure. Boil at my...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I'm not a thermal engineer, but my guess would be thermal mass. Normal mash would be 1/2 the amount of strike water and thus less BTUs.

    Spa Panel Keeps Tripping

I doubt this has anything to do with the issue, because the color of the wire wouldn't effect it's conductivity. However, it appears and is kind of scary that whoever wired the controller used white colored wire for the hot leads (and no black tape as an indicator either). That aside, my 2...

Using a stove or dryer 240v plugin

"Is there any safe way to make a inline GFCI that could pull from either one of 3 and 4 wire supply?" Sure! Is it cheap? Nope! LOL No matter how you look at it, you'd need different cords from the wall outlet (either 3 or 4 wire/prong) to whatever box you're using (be it a DIY or purchased...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Let me say this thread has been very useful and enlightening for me! Thank you to everybody who has posted and contributed their experiences. My CBS kettle came in about 2 weeks ago. I'm coming into this from a Igloo cooler, with a 120v RIMS tube for temp control. I only got the kettle from CBS...

Using a stove or dryer 240v plugin

The brew-boss in-line GFCI would work, but I see 2 challenges with that approach. 1) It has L6-30 connectors on it, which will not fit either a stove or dryer outlet. 2) L6-30 doesn't have a neutral (white) conductor. Ok, one can "make" it work (by bonding a neutral bus to the ground in the...

    2-outlet 240V setup?

That adapter splits out a single 240 volt outlet into 2 separate 120 volt outlets.
