    Brewing in a bag

Anyone know what type of bag you need to brew in a bag? I would like to buy some of these. It sure would make brew day much easier in many ways.

    Induction tank fermenter problem

I ran into another issue. After I did the above, I screwed up and cleaned it with city water instead of my RO water and got a chlorine smell in it. I'm currently putting it back into the sun and gonna run more oxyclean through it....crap.

I'll check that out & thanks!

    Induction tank fermenter problem

I purchased one of those 15 gal conical induction tanks about 6 months ago and did a 10gal brew of some BM's centennial blonde, which I've become quite proficient at having brewed over 120 gallons of this fine nectar, and even though I'd rinsed my new fermenter and soaked it for over a week...

    Keg CO2 Carbonation?

LOL, I can see that, er happening... I already bottle some beer that way for friends or when I don't want to hassle with carrying a Keg along. Where did you get your beer gun? Did you make it or get a prefab. I rigged one up from a bottle filler. Not even close to the best but as few as I...

    Keg CO2 Carbonation?

I did a search and can't seem to find anything regarding kegging your mead to use like in my draft kegerator. What I had in mind was to keg it and then use my bottling setup to bottle with. Anyone got a link or info regarding carbonating mead in a keg? I think I'm going to start with the...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I have only been all grain brewing for a year but have brewed this particular brew about 6 times now, (it's become my house beer). I have used notty for all brews. I always rack into secondary and use biofine and let it sit for 2-3 days. Then I use a 1 micron beer filter with my pump rig and...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Just wanted to say thanks for the coloring info. I found what I think is a pretty good price on it after shopping around and wanted to share it. It's just under 4 bucks for 4oz on Williams Brewing website. William's Brewing, fine homebrewing since 1979. @ Williams Brewing First time I've...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Just finished reading up on those color suggestions. Both are great. I won't be satisified until I've tried all options. While I was looking into these a friend asked me about doing a "Red". Any suggestions on what to do for that? I just brewed an Irish Red. Completely different beer...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Got my first "taste" of the Centennial Brunette during a gravity check yesterday after 13 days in the fermenter. Gravity was down to 1.012. Flavor was somewhat on the "nutty" side. Color is looking good. I would have preferred not to alter the flavor but only the color. Can anyone recommend...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

That makes a great slogan. "Centennial Brunette, a little on the naughty side." ROFLMAO

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Has anyone tried to make this a dark ale? I have made about 40 gallons of this brew and it's absolutely excellent. All my friends love it. I just added 1lb of chocolate to the recipe and turned it VERY dark. It's been in the fermenter for 8 days. Starting Gravity was about 1.040 and it's...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed 5 gallons of this 3 weeks ago and it came out superb. Very crisp & clear. Smooth and easy drinking. I brewed my first batch with Briess 2 Row as a base but I just brewed 10 more gallons last night with Canada Malting Company 2 Row. The LHBS in New Orleans said it was more like...

    Question about taste

I wound up using straight RODI water. You wouldn't believe how smooth this brew is. I'm going to try it with other brews but now that I have a baseline I'll study up on types of water for different brews and play with adjusting from there to what is required for the various types. Gonna be a...

    Question about taste

Just wanted to post a quick followup. I finished cold crashing & carbing this brew. It's in my kegerator right now. I had several friends over that had tasted the previous "cousin" of this brew, (Centennial Blonde) and they all agree with me. There's no comparison. This is a GREAT quaffer...

    Question about taste

I feel kind of silly because I just sort of "skimmed" that chapter when I was reading Palmer's "How to Brew" book. Not any longer. I've read it twice now. Very valuable book. I have it on my iPhone, iPad & PC and have 2 hard copies. One I purchased and the other was a gift. That data is...

    Question about taste

Well I thought I'd add this update. I brewed a Centennial Blonde, my second attempt, and everything went almost precisely as did my first attempt according to my notes. At this moment I am racking into secondary after 6 days in primary for cold crashing & fining followed by kegging. I just...
