    Hey There from AZ

With today's weather, you can still get in another batch. I'm planning on emptying my mead fermenters, and trying to start a few batches, before it gets too hot. Oh, welcome from Mesa!! steve

    Beer in Hawaii.

Brew Moon, in Ward Centre. Brewmaster there is an old aquaintance of mine, named Greg Yount. It is on Oahu, not Maui, though. steve

    Swmbo???

As a fan of Rumpole, I knew who SWMBO was, long before I enrolled at this school. Now, everyone's gonna ask who Rumpole is. Google is your best friend. steve

    Northern Brewer Rant

Wild, I hate to post a kudo for my old boss, (since Jeffy is an @$$hat!!) but Brewers Connection has the 2 liter Erlenmeyer flask. A wee bit of warning though, I got a 25% discount there, and I can get stuff cheaper at AHS! Including shipping! steve

    Caramel cream ale?

Maple maybe a great match with this, but I wouldn't use an artificial flavour. I'd use real maple syrup! steve

    Drilling through stainless

Pam would be my choice, since it in a spray can. (It's also food-grade.) I'd second cooking oil, too. stevce

    Drilling through stainless

Or, a center punch. :D Use a big nail, it is easier to hold onto. Also, if you can figure out how to, get a piece of wood, directly behind where the hole is going. If you don't, as the last of the hole is being drilled, the corners of the bit always catch, on the last piece of the hole...

Best Results For Fruit Flavoring In Beer?

I don't do fruited beer, but I do do fruited Meads. I, personally, like frozed fruit. I freeze it and thaw it a few times, and this breaks down the cell walls. steve

    Granulated honey?

I don't think so! 30 pound (2.5 gallon) container, $21.00!! I've got 4 of them by now. (With one more, turned into Mead.) steve

    Simple bottling question

I'd just use the racking cane. (To stir with.) It's been (hopefully) sanitized, and will work. Besides, your product has already been exposed to it. steve

    Bulk Priming

5 ounces, or 3/4 cup, per 5 gallons. Use dextrose. steve

    Low Alcohol

Less than 1 %, should be a tasty beer, if my memory serves. Guys, (and YooperBrew) you CAN use the potential alcohol scale, to determine alcohol. That is what it's for! All you need to do, is record your OG, and your FG. Now, by looking at the hydrometer, twist it and see what the...

    "Mead" from Molasses?

Um, bay rum isn't a drinkable beverage. It is used as a face (and hair) tonic. I personally like the smell, and use it as after-shave. I also put it in my home-made moustache wax. (Yes, I'm sporting a Handlebar.) steve

    Man, I love Apfelwein

It's probably not fusels, but methanol. Methanol is more likely, in fruit drinks, for some reason. Fusels come from a high fermentation temp, from what I've heard. Either way, they BOTH mess with your head!! steve

    My First EXPLOSION !!!

Yep, just turn it into a piece of plastic pipe, without the "thingie" on the bottom. Back when I started in this hobby, airlocks didn't have the "thingie." (Back then, T he Complete Joy of Homebrewing was called The NEW Complete... :D steve

    My First EXPLOSION !!!

What you need to do, is cut the little end off of your airlock. If you look at the very bottom of it, you'll see a thingie, that blocks most of the pipe. Just cut it off, sanitize, and affix the tube. That little thingie is blocking up, and blowing the lid. steve

My First Craigslist Brewing Haul (pics) and a Question or Two...

That is the way I cleaned out the lines, too. That kit IS made for cleaning lines, in a commercial (Sankey) keg rig. I'd mix up some BLC in a small corny, and push it through the lines with Co2. I'd rinse it with some iodophor solution. steve

My First Craigslist Brewing Haul (pics) and a Question or Two...

Yep, $80! One more reason I'm buying all my supplies on-line, at AHS. I'm getting my stuff cheaper, there, even after figuring my old discount from the LHBS. steve

My First Craigslist Brewing Haul (pics) and a Question or Two...

And, if you chart the pressures for various temps, you can actually use that gauge for a thermometer. At least, until you run out of liquid Co2. steve

My First Craigslist Brewing Haul (pics) and a Question or Two...

Yep, it's a line cleaning kit. The LHBS I used to work at, sold them for $80, or so. Sounds like you SCORED on your $50 purchase!:ban: :D Oh, you remove your faucet, and screw thew connector to the shank right there. You put your keg adapter in a bucket, to catch the cleaner, as you...
